ABIL EM 90 is a silicone emulsifier based on Cetyl PEG/PPG 10/1 Dimethicone designed for stabilization of reverse emulsions and hybrid silicone systems. The ingredient appears as a viscous oily liquid ranging from clear to light yellow color. The molecular structure combines silicone backbone with polyether groups allowing stabilization of aqueous droplets within silicone or oil phases. Insoluble in water and incorporated into the oil or silicone phase. Compatible with volatile silicones, dimethicone fluids, esters and vegetable oils. The material enables stable emulsions with smooth sensory properties.

ABIL EM 90 is blended with dimethicone, cyclomethicone and almond oil and heated until a uniform silicone phase is obtained. In a separate vessel purified water, butylene glycol and calendula extract are mixed to form the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is slowly introduced into the silicone phase under intensive mixing forming a stable water in silicone emulsion. The pH of the aqueous phase is then adjusted to a balanced level. The final product is a smooth cream with silky sensory texture.
