Building Consistent Cream Texture at Industrial Scale
Emulsifier Crystal Cream, supplied in a 1 kg pack, belongs to the category of Emulsifiers
and is used to stabilize oil-in-water systems in the manufacture of creams, lotions, body milks and other cosmetic emulsions. A kilogram-scale pack is aimed primarily at studio and conveyor-line production, where the priority is not a single trial batch but repeatable results across many production runs. The material forms a dense crystalline network around oil droplets, giving the finished product long-term stability against separation and a smooth, non-tacky texture that many manufacturers rely on for mass-market lines.
The primary application of Crystal Cream is skin care manufacturing: moisturizing and nourishing creams, body lotions, hand creams, sun care products and balms. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry for ointment bases and in household chemistry for cream-type cleaning formulas. The emulsifier is introduced into the hot oil phase at 70-75 degrees Celsius, after which the oil and water phases are combined at similar temperatures and homogenized until smooth. A typical usage rate ranges from 3 to 8 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired viscosity and oil phase content.
Crystal Cream pairs well with other stabilizers and co-emulsifiers, giving formulators room to fine-tune texture and melting behavior. For lighter emulsions and serums it is often combined with a softer system such as Olivem 300 Emulsifier, which lends a lighter feel on skin. For natural and organic formulations, Emulsifier NatureMulse is a useful partner, while pharmaceutical and dermatological cream development often benefits from combining it with Emulsifier EMULPHARMA 135 to boost stability across a range of pH values.
Crystal Cream should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a dry area away from direct sunlight, at room temperature, avoiding overheating and moisture exposure that could cause the material to clump. Under proper storage conditions the emulsifier retains its performance for an extended period, which matters most for manufacturers purchasing raw materials in bulk and planning steady, recurring production supply.
Because of its reliable and predictable behavior in formulation, Crystal Cream frequently serves as the base emulsifier for mass-market product lines where batch-to-batch consistency is essential, along with broad compatibility with vegetable oils, silicones and active ingredients.
Nourishing Body Lotion Base with Crystal Cream
Distilled water 720 g
Emulsifier Crystal Cream 55 g
Sweet almond oil 90 g
Cetyl alcohol 20 g
Glycerin 35 g
Preservative 10 g
Fragrance oil 5 g
Combine
the oil phase with Crystal Cream and cetyl alcohol and heat to 75 degrees
Celsius until fully melted, while heating the water and glycerin separately to
the same temperature. Slowly pour the water phase into the oil phase under
continuous mixing and homogenize until a smooth lotion forms. Once the mixture
cools to room temperature, add the preservative and fragrance oil, then fill
into prepared containers.
