Product Description
Building Water-Resistant Emulsions with ErcaLan75
ErcaLan75 in a 25 gram pack belongs to the Emulsifiers
category and is mainly used to build water-in-oil emulsions that remain stable under exposure to moisture, electrolytes and mechanical friction. This property makes the ingredient valuable not only in skincare formulations but also in industrial production of protective hand creams, barrier balms for chemical exposure environments, and long-lasting water-contact products. The compact 25 gram size is well suited for home labs, formula testing and small trial batches before scaling up a production line.
The primary application of ErcaLan75 is creating creams and balms with a dense yet pliable texture that resists washing off and provides extended skin protection. That is why formulators reach for it in sun care products, winter weatherproofing balms, cracked skin repair sticks, nursing care balms and baby skincare, where the barrier function and emulsion stability matter most. Manufacturing facilities use similar emulsifiers in worker hand protection creams against oils, solvents and chemical agents, since water-in-oil systems form a physical barrier that resists penetration by harsh substances.
Formulas built around ErcaLan75 pair well with a wide range of oils, waxes and fatty alcohols, allowing formulators to fine-tune density and slip of the finished product. A good complement is the MONTANOV 82 Emulsifier when a lighter oil-in-water phase or a mixed texture is desired. For products with conditioning benefits on hair or skin, the cationic Varisoft EQ 65 emulsifier improves spreadability and softness. In recipes requiring a lighter cream structure, the Emulsifier Beautyderm K10 works well for combined emulsion systems.
A typical usage rate for ErcaLan75 ranges from 3 to 8 percent of the total formula weight depending on the required density and stability. The ingredient is added to the oil phase and heated together with oils and waxes to around 70-75 degrees Celsius, after which the water phase is slowly poured in under constant stirring until the mixture cools completely. Store the raw material in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight in a tightly sealed container to preserve its functional properties throughout the stated shelf life.
Weatherproof Hand Barrier Balm
ErcaLan75 6 g
Shea butter 14 g
Mineral oil 20 g
Beeswax 5 g
Distilled water 50 g
Glycerin 4 g
Vitamin E 1 g
Melt
the oil phase containing ErcaLan75, shea butter, mineral oil and beeswax over a
water bath at 75 degrees Celsius until fully combined. Separately warm the water
with glycerin to the same temperature, then slowly pour it into the oil phase
while stirring continuously with a mixer. Cool the blend to 40 degrees, mix in
vitamin E, stir until the texture becomes smooth and dense, then transfer the
finished balm into jars.
