ABIL EM 90 silicone emulsifier for stable water in silicone emulsion systems

ABIL EM 90 is a silicone emulsifier based on Cetyl PEG/PPG 10/1 Dimethicone. It appears as a viscous oily liquid ranging from clear to light yellow color. The molecule combines silicone backbone with polyether groups allowing stabilization of water in silicone and water in oil systems. Insoluble in water and incorporated into the oil or silicone phase. Compatible with silicones, esters, hydrocarbons and various cosmetic oils. Provides stable emulsions with smooth sensory properties and predictable rheology suitable for industrial formulation processes.

ABIL EM 90 is blended with cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone and jojoba oil and heated until a uniform oil phase is obtained. In a separate vessel purified water, glycerin and aloe extract are mixed to form the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is gradually introduced into the silicone phase under intensive mixing to form a stable reverse emulsion. After emulsification the pH of the aqueous phase is adjusted to a balanced level. The result is a smooth cream emulsion with silky texture.
