Warm Spice Note for Food, Home Fragrance and Personal Care Formulations
Cinnamon Floral Water 1 L belongs to the Fragrant Waters for Cosmetics category, which brings together natural hydrosols obtained through steam distillation of botanical raw materials. This size is convenient for small workshops, cosmetic studios and craft producers who work in batches and need a steady stock of raw material without frequent reordering. The product is a water distillate of cinnamon bark or leaves that retains part of the volatile aromatic compounds and carries a warm, recognizable spicy character.
Globally, demand for cinnamon hydrosol comes not only from cosmetics but strongly from the food industry, where it flavors baked goods, creams, syrups, compotes, tea and coffee beverages, as well as soft drinks. Unlike essential oil, the hydrosol gives a softer, less concentrated aroma and taste, allowing more precise control of intensity in a formula and lowering the risk of overdosing active compounds. In household chemistry and home fragrance, cinnamon water serves as a base for reed diffusers, textile sprays and air fresheners, especially in seasonal warm spicy lines.
In personal care, cinnamon hydrosol is used in toning lotions, body mists, warming blends and formulas for problem skin thanks to the natural cleansing agent and stimulating properties of cinnamon. It pairs well with other hydrosols when building multicomponent toning blends: lightness and floral character come from Neroli Floral Water 100 ml, a fresh green-rosy accent from Palmarosa Floral Water 100 ml, and a soft woody base from Rosewood Floral Water 100 ml. Such combinations are commonly used for layered fragrance compositions in mists, toners and alcohol-free perfume waters.
Cinnamon hydrosol should be added at the final, cool stage of a formulation, once the base emulsion or water phase has cooled to room temperature or slightly above, to avoid degrading volatile compounds through heat. A typical dosage in finished cosmetic formulas ranges from 5 to 20 percent of the total water phase, while in food recipes the amount is adjusted to taste, usually starting with small portions and increasing gradually. Store the product in a tightly closed container, in a cool place away from direct light, avoiding sharp temperature swings, which helps preserve aroma stability and prevent microbial growth.
Working with a 1 L volume makes it easy to run several small production batches in sequence, which is particularly valuable for cosmetic labs, perfumery workshops and small food producers testing new recipes before scaling up.
