1. In a clean, sterilized beaker, combine distilled water, sodium hyaluronate, and glycerin (Phase A). Stir well until the sodium hyaluronate is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear and slightly viscous. This may take some time. If using xanthan gum, slowly sprinkle it into the water phase while stirring vigorously to prevent clumping.
2. Once Phase A is fully hydrated and uniform, slowly add Agave Glycolic Extract (Phase B) to the mixture while stirring gently. The color of the extract will subtly tint the serum.
3. Finally, add the preservative (Phase C) and mix thoroughly for several minutes to ensure even distribution.
4. Check the pH of the serum; adjust to a skin-friendly pH of 5.0-6.0 if necessary using a few drops of lactic acid or sodium bicarbonate solution.
5. Transfer the finished serum into a clean, sterilized dropper bottle.
