Rose Essential Oil (Rose Oil) 5 ml

Why Rose Oil Remains a Cornerstone of Luxury Perfumery

Rose essential oil is obtained from flower petals through steam distillation, and producing even a tiny quantity requires an enormous amount of raw material, which is why this oil ranks among the most expensive essential oils in the world. The 5 ml size is well suited for home cosmetic making and trial batches, allowing formulators to test the aroma and properties before committing to a larger recipe. This ingredient belongs to the Essential Oils section, which brings together plant-derived concentrates used in perfumery, skincare, and aromatherapy.

The primary application of rose oil lies in the perfumery industry, where it serves as one of the key notes in luxury fragrance compositions, lending depth, warmth, and a characteristic floral sweetness with subtle honeyed and spicy facets. In skincare formulations, rose oil is valued for its ability to tone the skin and impart a refreshed feel, making it a popular addition to serums, facial creams, toners, and emulsions designed for mature or sensitive skin. Typical dosage ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 percent of the total formula weight, and it should be added at the final stage once the emulsion has cooled to no more than 40 degrees Celsius, preserving the volatile aromatic compounds. In candle making, a few drops of rose oil are used to create hand-poured scented candles, while in household chemistry it finds use for scenting delicate laundry and fabric care products.

Rose oil blends beautifully with other essential oils, revealing new facets within a composition. A classic pairing forms with Sandalwood Essential Oil, which adds a woody base and extends the fragrance's presence on the skin. A more unexpected yet sought-after combination in niche perfumery is with Juniper Essential Oil, which lends a fresh coniferous edge and subtle sharpness. For more complex herbal accords, perfumers sometimes introduce a drop of Basil Essential Oil, which brings a spicy green facet that balances the sweetness of rose.

Store rose essential oil in a tightly sealed dark glass bottle away from direct sunlight and heat sources, ideally at a temperature between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Under proper storage conditions the oil retains its qualities over an extended period, though the aroma may shift slightly over time, which is typical for natural essential oils. Before introducing it into a new formulation, it is advisable to test a small trial mix first to gauge fragrance intensity and determine the right dosage for the specific product, whether a cream, serum, fragrance blend, or candle.
