Softouch for cosmetic formulations with silky finish smooth glide and premium sensory performance
Softouch is used in cosmetic formulations designed to improve sensory properties, enhance product glide, reduce tackiness and create a silky elegant finish. It is suitable for facial creams, serums, lotions, primers, foundations, decorative cosmetics, body care products, hand care formulations, hair care products and professional private label cosmetics.
In modern cosmetic formulations, Softouch functions as a sensory modifier that improves texture, enhances spreadability and provides a refined after-feel. It is widely selected for products where manufacturers aim to achieve a lightweight luxurious sensory profile without relying on large amounts of heavy oils or waxes.
Cosmetic applications
Softouch is incorporated into cosmetic products to improve slip, create a smoother skin feel, reduce residual stickiness and deliver a premium sensory experience. In creams it creates a softer and more elegant texture. In serums it improves application and distribution across the skin. In primers and decorative cosmetics it contributes to a smoother finish. In body care products it enhances application comfort, while in hair care formulations it helps provide softness and a well-conditioned feel.
The ingredient is especially valued in formulations where lightweight texture, silky touch, rapid spreading and elegant product aesthetics are important.
Formulation technology
Softouch can be used in water-based emulsions, anhydrous systems, creams, gel creams and decorative cosmetic formulations depending on the supplied grade. In emulsions it is commonly incorporated into the oil phase or added during the cooling stage according to the supplier's technical recommendations. In powder cosmetics it may be blended directly with dry ingredients or dispersed in an appropriate carrier.
During formulation development, compatibility should be evaluated with emulsifiers, vegetable oils, silicones, waxes, pigments, polymers and cosmetic active ingredients. Softouch may influence viscosity, glide, spreadability, gloss level or matte appearance depending on the formulation.
Compatibility
Softouch is compatible with lightweight emollients, vegetable oils, silicones, squalane, waxes, fatty alcohols, emulsifiers, film-forming agents, cosmetic pigments, pearlescent pigments, mineral fillers, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, betaine, panthenol, niacinamide, botanical extracts and modern moisturizing ingredients.
In decorative cosmetics, formulators should evaluate its influence on shade, coverage, pigment distribution and finish durability. In skin care products, viscosity, emulsion stability and sensory characteristics should be assessed during formulation development.

Appearance and storage
Depending on the specific grade, Softouch may be supplied as a white or off-white powder, a soft wax-like ingredient, a liquid emollient, a dispersion or a specialized sensory complex. Appearance, odor, solubility and processing method depend on the supplier's specification.
Store the ingredient in its original tightly sealed container protected from moisture, direct sunlight, excessive heat and contamination. Before manufacturing, always follow the technical documentation for the specific product grade, as different cosmetic sensory ingredients may be marketed under the Softouch name.
