Ronaflair Extender W optical filler based on Mica and Titanium Dioxide for soft focus effect
Ronaflair Extender W is a functional cosmetic filler with INCI Mica CI 77891 Titanium Dioxide. It is a modified mica coated with titanium dioxide designed to create a visual smoothing effect and improve sensory performance of formulations. The ingredient is widely used in decorative cosmetics where appearance texture and application quality are critical.
What it is and where it is used
Ronaflair Extender W is used in formulations where a smooth skin appearance is required without heavy coverage. It is commonly applied in foundations powders primers concealers BB creams and eye products.
It is also used in skin care formulations that provide an instant visual improvement of skin texture. In professional cosmetics it is included to enhance spreadability and sensory feel.
How it works
The ingredient works through light scattering. Mica particles coated with Titanium Dioxide reflect and diffuse light creating a soft focus effect.
This reduces the visual appearance of pores uneven texture and fine lines. The mechanism is purely physical and does not alter the structure of the skin.
Properties
Provides a soft focus optical effect
Visually smooths the skin surface
Improves spreadability and glide
Reduces oily feel
Enhances natural looking finish
Does not add heaviness to the texture
Applications across industries
In decorative cosmetics it is used in foundations powders and primers to create a smooth and even finish
In skin care it is used in creams and serums with instant visual improvement
In professional formulations it enhances sensory performance and application quality
In cosmetic manufacturing it is a key component for blur effect formulations
Behavior in formulation
Ronaflair Extender W is an insoluble powder acting as a dispersed solid phase. When properly dispersed it distributes evenly and does not destabilize the system.
It is compatible with oils silicones pigments and emulsions. It provides a transparent effect while maintaining optical performance.
How to use
The ingredient is incorporated into the oil phase or pre dispersed in a liquid medium. In powder products it is added directly to the blend.
Efficient dispersion is required to achieve uniform performance.
Recommended usage level
Typical usage ranges from 1 percent to 6 percent
In decorative formulations 2–5 percent is commonly used
Formulation example
Lightweight foundation with smoothing effect
Purified Water — 680 ml
Glycerin — 40 ml
Cetearyl Alcohol — 30 g
Ceteareth-20 — 15 g
Caprylic Capric Triglyceride — 90 ml
Dimethicone — 20 ml
Ronaflair Extender W — 35 g
Titanium Dioxide CI 77891 — 15 g
Iron Oxides CI 77491 CI 77492 CI 77499 — 10 g
Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin — 5 ml
Processing
The oil and water phases are heated to 70 degrees and combined with emulsification. Ronaflair Extender W and pigments are pre dispersed in the oil phase.
After emulsification the system is homogenized and cooled. Below 40 degrees Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin is added. Mixing continues until a uniform formulation is achieved.
Important considerations
Ronaflair Extender W is not a treatment active and functions only as a visual and sensory modifier.
Performance depends on dispersion quality and overall formulation structure. When properly used it enables a smoother and more refined finish without increasing coverage density.
