Getting Suspended Particles That Never Sink to the Bottom of Your Soap
Crystal Suspending Soap Base 200 g solves a common challenge faced by anyone working with clear or translucent soap: how to keep scrub particles, glitter, dried flowers, or decorative bits evenly distributed throughout the bar instead of letting them sink to the bottom of the mold while curing. This base belongs to the category of Melt and Pour Soap Bases and stands apart from standard clear and white bases thanks to its suspending properties - the special structure keeps inclusions floating evenly, creating marbled swirls, layered effects, and visible chunky texture.
The base is mainly used for decorative soap containing add-ins such as ground coffee, oatmeal, loofah pieces, cosmetic glitter, dried herbs, mineral pigments, and mica powder. Thanks to the viscosity of the melted mass, particles neither sink nor float to the top but stay locked in place once the soap sets. Melt the base in a water bath at around 55-65 degrees Celsius, avoiding overheating or active boiling that could disrupt the structure or cause cloudiness. Fragrance oils, colorants, and add-ins should be blended in once the mixture cools to roughly 45-50 degrees and starts to thicken slightly - this is the stage where inclusions stay best suspended without settling before pouring into the mold.
Crystal Suspending pairs well with other bases in the line: for contrasting layers and a multi-tiered look, many soap makers combine it with Crystal Jel Soap Base 200 g, which offers a denser, more elastic texture for contrasting layers. It also works well alongside Shaving base Crystal Shaving Base (SSB) 200 g
when creating combined gift sets, where one bar pairs decorative particle soap with a lathering shaving base.
The 200 g size is well suited for home soap making and small trial batches - a convenient way to test decor ratios and dial in the right concentration of glitter or scrub before scaling up production. Once the formula is confirmed and the results are satisfying, larger production runs and small-batch studio work typically move to the bigger Crystal Jel Soap Base 1 kg pack, allowing the tested recipe to be scaled up without losing quality.
Store the base in a dry place at room temperature, in sealed packaging, away from direct sunlight and high humidity, which can affect the structure over long storage periods. Once opened, transfer any leftover base into an airtight container.
