Riboxyl ribose active ingredient for aqueous serums and functional formulation systems
Riboxyl is a ribose-based active used in formulation design as a water-soluble component for systems requiring structured integration of carbohydrate molecules into the aqueous phase. It is applied in serums, gels, creams, fluid concentrates and ampoule solutions where stable distribution of actives is required. The ingredient is suitable for cosmetic formulations, laboratory development, nutraceutical systems and technical aqueous processes where sugars are used as functional raw materials.
From a formulation perspective, Riboxyl provides a low molecular weight carbohydrate that participates in the active layer of the system. It does not act as a structuring or thickening agent, but contributes to the functional profile of the formulation. Due to its high compatibility with water-based components, it integrates easily into a wide range of systems. Stability depends on controlled processing conditions, including moderate temperature and balanced pH, with addition recommended during the cooling phase.
In cosmetic applications, Riboxyl is used in facial serums, gel-based products, eye-area formulations and lightweight emulsions. In hair care systems, it can be incorporated into water-based tonics and fluid treatments. In SPA applications, it is used in professional aqueous solutions. In nutraceutical systems, similar carbohydrate components are applied in compatible liquid matrices. In industrial processes, it may be used in aqueous formulations requiring stable dispersion of active materials.
Functionally, Riboxyl distributes evenly within the water phase, contributing to a uniform environment for other ingredients. It supports formulation stability and compatibility, particularly in systems combining multiple hydrophilic components. It works effectively alongside humectants and polymeric stabilizers without altering the rheological structure.
In formulation practice, Riboxyl is introduced into the water phase after dissolution of base ingredients. It is compatible with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, niacinamide and mild preservative systems. It dissolves readily and maintains uniform distribution under standard mixing conditions.
Usage levels are defined by technical specifications and adjusted by the formulator depending on formulation goals.
Example formulation: Aqueous serum with carbohydrate active
Purified water 72 ml
Riboxyl 5 g
Glycerin 5 g
Hyaluronic acid solution 1% 10 ml
Panthenol 3 g
Niacinamide 3 g
Preservative 1 g
pH adjuster 1 g
Process: glycerin and niacinamide are dissolved in purified water with mixing until uniform. Hyaluronic acid solution and panthenol are then incorporated. After cooling, Riboxyl is added with gentle mixing to ensure even distribution. Preservative is introduced and pH is adjusted. The formulation is mixed until clear and stable before filling.
Example formulation: Gel serum with carbohydrate-based active system
Purified water 68 ml
Riboxyl 5 g
Propanediol 5 g
Xanthan gum 1 g
Beta glucan 3 g
Green tea extract 10 ml
Preservative 1 g
pH adjuster 7 g
Process: xanthan gum is dispersed in propanediol and introduced into water under mixing to form a gel structure. Beta glucan and green tea extract are then incorporated. After stabilization, Riboxyl is added during the cooling stage. Preservative is introduced and pH is adjusted. The system is mixed until homogeneous.
Riboxyl is used in formulations where integration of water-soluble actives into a stable system is required. It supports compatibility, uniform distribution and development of modern serum and aqueous formulation systems.
