Riboxyl ribose functional carbohydrate ingredient for aqueous systems and serum formulation development
Riboxyl is a ribose-based carbohydrate ingredient used in formulation systems as a water-phase component designed for stable integration into aqueous environments. It is applied in serums, fluid solutions, gel systems and light emulsions where consistent dispersion of low molecular weight actives is required. This raw material is suitable for cosmetic formulation, laboratory development, nutraceutical liquid systems and technical aqueous processes where controlled distribution of functional compounds is necessary.
From a formulation perspective, Riboxyl acts as a hydrophilic carbohydrate integrated into the active phase of the system. It does not contribute to viscosity or structural formation but supports the functional composition of the formulation. Its compatibility with water-based systems allows it to be incorporated without additional processing steps. Stability is maintained through controlled formulation conditions, including moderate temperature and balanced pH, with recommended addition during the final cooling stage.
In cosmetic applications, Riboxyl is used in aqueous serums, gel-based treatments, eye-area formulations and lightweight emulsions. In hair care systems, it is incorporated into water-based tonics and fluid leave-in products. In SPA formulations, it is used in professional aqueous solutions and treatment systems. In nutraceutical liquids, similar carbohydrate ingredients are applied where compatibility with the formulation matrix is ensured. In industrial applications, it may be used in aqueous mixtures requiring uniform dispersion of functional ingredients.
Functionally, Riboxyl distributes evenly within the aqueous phase, contributing to a consistent and homogeneous system. It supports compatibility between hydrophilic ingredients and enhances formulation balance without affecting rheology. It works effectively alongside humectants, polymer stabilizers and other water-soluble components.
In formulation practice, Riboxyl is introduced into the water phase after the base system is prepared. It is compatible with polyols, sodium salts of organic acids, botanical extracts and preservation systems designed for aqueous formulations. It dissolves readily and maintains uniform distribution under standard mixing conditions.
Usage levels are defined in technical specifications and optimized by the formulator depending on system requirements.
Example formulation: Hydrating aqueous serum with carbohydrate complex
Purified water 71 ml
Riboxyl 5 g
Butylene glycol 5 g
Sodium lactate 3 g
Aloe vera extract 10 ml
Allantoin 2 g
Preservative 1 g
pH adjuster 3 g
Process: butylene glycol and sodium lactate are dissolved in purified water with mixing until a uniform base is achieved. Aloe vera extract and allantoin are incorporated under continuous agitation. After cooling, Riboxyl is added and evenly dispersed. Preservative is introduced and pH is adjusted. The formulation is mixed until stable and clear before filling.
Example formulation: Fluid gel with carbohydrate active and mineral support
Purified water 69 ml
Riboxyl 5 g
Propanediol 5 g
Hydroxyethylcellulose 1 g
Zinc PCA 2 g
Sea mineral solution 10 ml
Preservative 1 g
Neutralizer 7 g
Process: hydroxyethylcellulose is pre-dispersed in propanediol and introduced into water under mixing to form a gel base. Zinc PCA and sea mineral solution are incorporated. After stabilization, Riboxyl is added during the cooling stage. Preservative is introduced and the system is adjusted to the required pH. The formulation is mixed until homogeneous.
Riboxyl is used in aqueous formulations where stable integration of carbohydrate-based actives is required. It supports uniform distribution, compatibility and development of modern serum systems across cosmetic, SPA and technical applications.
