Sodium Alginate 10 g

Sodium Alginate water soluble marine structuring polymer for gel and mask systems

Sodium Alginate is a natural anionic polysaccharide extracted from brown seaweed. It appears as a fine white to light cream powder with neutral odor. Fully water soluble, it forms viscous solutions and elastic gels upon hydration and crosslinking with calcium ions. Insoluble in lipids, it must be dispersed into the aqueous phase under intensive mixing. The dry format ensures storage stability and predictable rheological performance suitable for scalable industrial processing.

Properties and skin performance

Forms smooth homogeneous gel textures with controlled viscosity. In modeling mask systems it creates an elastic three dimensional network capable of uniformly distributing active components. Provides plastic consistency without tackiness when properly balanced.

Industry applications

Sodium Alginate is used in peel off and modeling masks, hydrogel systems, SPA treatments and professional cosmetic lines. It is also widely applied in pharmaceutical and food industries as a gel forming matrix. Suitable for private label and contract manufacturing due to scalable gel formation and consistent batch performance.

Formula example

Sodium Alginate 65 g
Purified water 900 ml
Glycerin 100 g
Panthenol 15 g
Calcium sulfate 45 g
Lactic acid 7 g

Sodium Alginate is gradually dispersed into purified water under high shear mixing until fully hydrated and free of lumps forming a viscous uniform solution. Glycerin and panthenol are incorporated and mixed until homogeneous. Calcium sulfate is introduced to initiate gel network formation and evenly distributed. Lactic acid is added to adjust pH to a balanced level suitable for polysaccharide systems. The result is a dense paste designed to form an elastic gel structure upon application.

Sodium Alginate is positioned for B2B manufacturers of professional cosmetic and hydrogel systems. It ensures controlled viscosity, stable gel formation and reproducible performance in scalable industrial and contract production environments.
