The main global demand for this type of pigment comes from conveyor production of shower gels, shampoos, nail lacquers, mascaras and eyeliners, as well as tinting automotive polishes and detailing waxes. Resin artists rely on black pearl to create glossy tabletops, jewelry pieces and interior decor with a smoky metallic finish. In candle making the pigment gives wax a refined satin shine that resists fading in sunlight, while in soap crafting it is used less often, mainly for decorative metallic-effect layers rather than as a core ingredient.

The pigment should be added once the base has cooled to around 30-40 degrees Celsius, to prevent the pearl particles from breaking down under high heat. Recommended dosage ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of the total product weight, depending on the desired shimmer intensity and the type of base: clear gels and lacquers need lower concentration, while dense creams and waxes require a higher dose. Adding a small amount of Red Liquid Metallic Pearl gives a burgundy-black shimmer suitable for lip products and decorative enamel.

Store the product in a tightly closed container, in a dark place at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations that could affect shimmer stability over long-term storage. Once opened, use the pigment within the shelf life stated by the manufacturer, stirring it occasionally before use since particles can settle slightly over time.

When working with a 1 L container, accurate weight dosing on the production line matters: even a small deviation of 0.1-0.2 percent noticeably changes the color intensity in the finished item, so running a trial batch before starting full-scale production is recommended.

Carnauba wax 300 g

Black Liquid Metallic Pearl 6 ml

Fragrance oil 5 ml

Melt the carnauba and beeswax together in a water bath at around 70 degrees Celsius, then slowly add the mineral oil while stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool to about 40 degrees before blending in the pearl pigment and fragrance oil with slow, steady strokes to avoid trapping air. Pour the finished wax into tins and allow it to set at room temperature for several hours before sealing.
