Getting a Vibrant Ruby Shimmer with Red Liquid Pearl Pigment
This red liquid pearl pigment in a compact 10 ml bottle is well suited for home experimenting, small test batches, and formulators trying out a new shade before scaling up. It belongs to the Liquid Metallic Pearl line, a group of ready-to-use oil-based dispersions that spread evenly without clumping or settling. Worldwide, the biggest demand for such pigments comes from decorative cosmetics - lip glosses and balms, gel polishes and nail lacquers, cream and liquid eyeshadows, highlighters and shimmering blushes. Beyond cosmetics, red liquid pearl is widely used in candle making for colored layers and swirls, in soap crafting for a pearlescent shine on the surface, in resin art and decorative casting, and in certain household chemical products where a visual shine effect matters.
The liquid form is more convenient than powder pigments because it does not require pre-dispersion and blends immediately into an oil phase or a finished base. The red shade delivers a deep ruby glow with a metallic sheen that stays visible in both transparent and opaque formulas. This pigment is compatible with cosmetic oils, silicone bases, polymer resins, candle wax, and glycerin soap bases. It is not recommended to mix it directly into water phases without proper emulsification, since the pigment is oil-based and disperses poorly in plain water.
A typical dosage ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of the total product weight, depending on the desired shimmer intensity - a lower amount gives a subtle glow, while a higher concentration produces a bold, saturated effect. It is best added at the final stage of production, once the base has cooled to around 40-50 degrees Celsius, to avoid thermal degradation of the shimmer effect and color fading at excessive temperatures. Shaking the bottle gently before use is recommended, as slight separation of particles can occur during storage.
Store the pigment in a tightly closed container, away from direct sunlight, at room temperature, avoiding sharp temperature fluctuations. Under proper storage conditions the shimmer and color intensity remain stable for a long period.
Red liquid pearl blends smoothly with other shades from the same range, which makes it easy to create gradients and custom color combinations. Adding Pearl Liquid Metallic Pearl, 10 ml softens the intensity of red and gives a smoother color transition, while combining it with Bordeaux Liquid Metallic Pearl 10 ml creates a deeper wine-like tone, and Silver Liquid Metallic Pearl 10 ml adds a cool metallic contrast.
