What a Few Drops of Pearl Shimmer Can Do for Your Formulas
Liquid pearl pigments are valued for being ready to use straight from the bottle, without the need to pre-dissolve them in a solvent. This 10 ml bottle belongs to the Liquid Metallic Pearl range, which brings together concentrates for decorative cosmetics, resin art and small creative batches. This particular size is well suited for home projects, sample runs and testing a shade before ordering a larger volume.
The strongest global demand for liquid pearl pigments comes from decorative cosmetics and the resin and craft community. The pearl shade, with its soft milky glow, is widely used in lip gloss, nail gel polish, highlighters, eyeshadow bases and makeup primers where a subtle luminous finish is preferred over a strong metallic sheen. Thanks to its liquid consistency, the pigment blends smoothly into oil and silicone bases without clumping, provided it is mixed thoroughly.
The second major application area is epoxy resin casting, polymer jewelry, decorative panels, slime and handmade keepsakes. Here the pearl tone creates an inner glow and sense of depth, especially when layered with transparent resin. For more dynamic combinations, makers often pair the pearl shade with other pigments from the line, such as Gold Liquid Metallic Pearl 10 ml for a warm accent or Silver Liquid Metallic Pearl 10 ml for a cool metallic swirl. A touch of Red Liquid Metallic Pearl 10 ml also works well to introduce a soft rosy undertone into clear castings.
Candle makers use liquid pearl to tint the top layer of wax or gel candles, giving the surface a gentle shimmer. In household chemistry it appears in pearlescent shower gels, liquid soaps and shampoos purely as a visual effect that lifts the perceived quality of the product. Soap crafters occasionally use it for decorative swirls in the top layer of transparent soap bases, though this remains a smaller niche compared to the broader cosmetic and craft markets.
Recommended dosage typically ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of the base weight, though the exact amount is best confirmed with a small test batch, since the visible intensity depends heavily on the transparency and viscosity of the carrier. The pigment should be added at the final stage of preparation, once the base has cooled to around 60-70 degrees, to preserve its structure and shimmer. Shake the bottle gently before use, as slight separation can occur during storage. Keep the pigment tightly sealed, away from direct sunlight, at room temperature.
The liquid form blends well with silicone, mineral and plant oil bases as well as cold-cure epoxy resins. Mixing it directly into water-based formulas without proper emulsification is not advised, as this can cause uneven color distribution.
