Hazelnut Oil plant derived lipid component for controlling oil phase behavior and building stable formulations
Hazelnut Oil is obtained from the kernels of Corylus avellana and is used in formulation systems as a component that provides a controlled and balanced lipid environment. This ingredient is applied in food technologies, nutraceutical products, cosmetic development, SPA applications and industrial processes where consistent oil phase performance and uniform ingredient distribution are required.
From a formulation perspective, hazelnut oil acts as a flexible lipid base capable of adapting to different system designs. It facilitates the integration of components with varying densities and flow properties, helping to maintain homogeneity within the formulation. In addition to functioning as a carrier, it contributes to the structural stability and internal balance of multi-component systems.
In food applications, hazelnut oil is incorporated into specialized oil blends and functional compositions. In nutraceutical systems, it serves as a liquid base for multi-ingredient formulations. In cosmetic formulations, it is used in emulsions, oil concentrates, conditioning products, hair care systems and cleansing formulations. In SPA applications, it is included in massage blends and aromatic systems. In fragrance and decorative product manufacturing, it may act as part of the lipid base supporting even dispersion. In industrial contexts, it is used as a plant-derived raw material in processing systems and technical blends.
Functionally, hazelnut oil supports the formation of a balanced lipid phase that enables uniform distribution of ingredients. It helps regulate flow characteristics, improves compatibility between formulation components and reduces the likelihood of phase separation. In complex formulations, it assists in aligning the behavior of different ingredients within the oil phase.
In formulation practice, hazelnut oil is introduced into the oil phase and blended with other lipid materials. It is compatible with vegetable oils, waxes, emulsifiers and oil-soluble actives. Under standard heating conditions, it remains stable and can be used either as a primary base or as a supporting component in advanced formulations.
Usage level is determined by formulation requirements and adjusted by the formulator according to system design.
Example formulation: Balanced oil system with nut-derived lipid base
Hazelnut oil 28 g
Jojoba oil 22 g
Almond oil 20 g
Grape seed oil 12 g
Squalane 10 g
Vitamin E 1 g
Fragrance composition 5 g
Oil-soluble preservative 2 g
Process: combine all oils in a mixing vessel and blend until a uniform mixture is achieved. Add squalane and continue mixing until fully incorporated. Introduce vitamin E and fragrance composition, followed by the preservative. Allow the formulation to stabilize before filling.
Hazelnut Oil is used as a plant-based lipid component that supports oil phase balance, enhances formulation stability and enables consistent performance across food, cosmetic and industrial applications.
