Blue Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 10 ml

Getting a Reliable Blue Shade in Oil and Wax Formulations

Liquid oil soluble colorants dissolve directly into oils, waxes and cocoa butter without pre-dilution, and this 10 ml size is well suited for trial batches and precise shade testing before scaling up to larger production. This colorant belongs to the category of Oil soluble liquid dyes, which includes similar pigments designed for coloring fatty and oil-based systems.

The strongest global demand for this type of colorant comes from the confectionery industry, where it is used to tint chocolate coatings, cocoa butter decorations, fondant and fat-based creams. Blue shades are also widely used in candle making, including paraffin, soy and palm wax formulations, since the colorant disperses evenly through the melted mass without affecting wick performance. In cosmetic manufacturing it is applied to color balms, oil serums, solid creams, body sticks and decorative products such as tinted gels and wax crayons. In household chemistry the colorant is used for tinting wax polishes and oil-based fragrance sachets.

For mixed shades, blue works well alongside other oil soluble colorants. A small amount of Lemon Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant produces turquoise and mint tones, while combining it with Yellow Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant creates deep emerald shades for green palettes. For more complex violet and lavender compositions, blue pairs nicely with Raspberry Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant, allowing smooth gradient effects in swirl techniques used for both candles and epoxy resin.

The recommended dosage typically ranges from 0.05 to 0.5 g per 100 g of base, meaning a few drops depending on the desired intensity. The colorant should be added once the base has been melted and cooled slightly, at a temperature not exceeding 70-80 degrees Celsius, to prevent pigment degradation. It is advisable to stir the base thoroughly beforehand and allow the mixture to rest briefly after adding the colorant so the tone distributes evenly. Store the colorant tightly closed in its original container, in a dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, at room temperature.

White chocolate 150 g

Soy lecithin 1 g

Blue Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 3-4 drops

Melt the cocoa butter over a water bath until fully liquid, add the white chocolate pieces and stir gently until smooth at around 45 degrees Celsius. Mix in the soy lecithin to stabilize the blend, then add the colorant drop by drop, stirring thoroughly after each addition until an even rich blue tone is achieved. Pour the finished mixture into silicone molds in a thin layer and leave to set at room temperature until fully hardened before carefully removing the decorative pieces from the molds.
