Hemp Oil 50 ml

Why Hemp Oil Belongs in Every Formulator's Toolkit

Hemp oil is cold-pressed from hemp seeds, preserving a rich blend of polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids in a ratio rarely found in other plant oils. This balanced fatty acid profile makes it a sought-after ingredient in skincare formulations designed for dry, sensitive, and irritation-prone skin, as well as in hair and nail strengthening products. The oil belongs to the Liquid Basic Oils category, which brings together base components for creams, serums, and hair care blends that require no melting before use.

The 50 ml size is well suited for home cosmetic making and small trial batches, allowing formulators to test a new recipe before scaling into larger production runs. This volume is enough for dozens of applications in masks, balms, and blended formulas, making it a practical choice for makers working on custom orders and for those just starting to explore base oils.

Beyond cosmetics, hemp oil is widely used industrially in the food sector as a source of valuable fatty acids and in the production of nutritional supplements. In cosmetic formulations it is added to the oil phase during emulsion preparation at around 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, since higher temperatures can degrade its delicate fatty acids. Recommended usage ranges from 5 to 15 percent of total formula weight in creams and lotions, while in lip balms and nourishing hair masks it can be used undiluted or blended with other oils.

Hemp oil pairs well with lighter oils that keep finished formulas from feeling heavy. Combined with Cotton Oil Refined, it creates a balanced base for lightweight body care products. For richer nourishing blends it works well alongside Avocado Oil, which adds vitamins and supports deeper hydration. For formulas targeting oily or blemish-prone skin, many formulators add Jojoba Oil, valued for its light, stable texture.

The oil should be stored in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, since its fatty acids are sensitive to oxidation. Once opened, it is used within a few months, and refrigeration can help extend shelf life further. No pretreatment is needed before formulation, and it can be introduced during either the cold or warm blending stage.
