AMIGEL rheology guide: Sclerotium Gum in gels emulsions and suspensions

A comprehensive technical formulation guide dedicated to managing rheology in cosmetics using the natural polysaccharide AMIGEL (Sclerotium Gum). This article explores the physical mechanisms of polymer hydration and network formation for structuring clear gels, light emulsions, and particle-suspending fluids. It covers pre-dispersion in polyols, electrolyte stability, shear rate handling, incompatibility limits, thermal limits, and precise pH controls. Features three complete DIY recipes with step-by-step compounding instructions and cold storage standards.

Natpure Film AP: natural film-forming technology for skin color cosmetics and hair

A comprehensive technical formulation guide dedicated to utilizing the bio-based film former Natpure Film AP (derived from sugar cane) in color cosmetics and hair care. This article breaks down the physical mechanics of flexible film creation, moisture resistance, and pigment adhesion enhancement. It covers aqueous dissolution protocols, compatibility with natural polymers and gums, thermal boundaries, and precise pH controls. Features three complete DIY recipes with step-by-step compounding instructions and storage standards.

ViableCare LipoCare 8: integrating a liposomal ceramide complex into barrier-care formulas

A comprehensive technical formulation guide to designing skin barrier restoration creams and liposomal fluids using ViableCare LipoCare 8. This article breaks down the physiological mechanism of ceramide integration into stratum corneum lipids to stop transepidermal water loss. It details exact processing protocols to protect liposomal structures, low-shear cooling phase entry below thirty degrees Celsius, emulsifier compatibility, and pH boundaries. Features three complete DIY recipes with step-by-step compounding instructions and cold storage standards.

Jojoba Oil 50 ml

What Makes Jojoba Oil a Reliable Choice for Long-Term Formulations

Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax extracted from the seeds of a shrub native to arid regions of North America, and this waxy composition is precisely what sets it apart from typical vegetable oils. It resists oxidation remarkably well, does not turn rancid, and maintains stability even under prolonged storage or elevated temperatures, which makes it a preferred ingredient in formulations that require extended shelf life. The 50 ml size is well suited for home crafting, small trial batches, and testing new formulas before scaling up production, and it belongs to the Liquid Basic Oils category, where foundational ingredients for emulsions, serums, and body oils are gathered.

The primary demand for jojoba oil comes from the cosmetic industry, where it appears in creams, lotions, lip balms, sun care products, hair and beard care formulas, and even gentle baby care lines due to its mild interaction with skin. Beyond cosmetics, jojoba is valued in pharmaceutical applications as a base for ointments, in precision lubricant manufacturing thanks to its heat resistance, and in perfumery as a fixative that helps scents last longer. In cold and hot process soap making, small amounts are typically added at the trace stage to enrich the bar and contribute to a denser lather structure.

When formulating emulsions, jojoba oil is introduced during the oil phase at 60-70 degrees alongside other fats and waxes, while in cold-process creams it can be blended in without heating at all. A typical dosage in creams and lotions ranges from 3 to 10 percent of the total formula, up to 15 percent in lip balms, and it can also be applied undiluted as a standalone facial or body oil. It pairs particularly well with other base oils - combined with Olive Oil it creates a nourishing blend suited for dry or mature skin, while adding Refined Poppy Seed Oil lightens the texture and speeds up absorption.

For hair care formulas, jojoba is frequently paired with heavier oils such as Liquid Shea Butter to strike a balance between easy application and deep moisture for the ends of the hair. Storage should be in a tightly sealed container, kept in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources - under these conditions the oil retains its properties for several years, outperforming most vegetable oils that oxidize much faster.

Lightweight Beard Conditioning Oil

Jojoba oil 20 ml

Liquid shea butter 10 ml

Refined poppy seed oil 15 ml

Cedarwood essential oil 4 drops

Combine jojoba oil, liquid shea butter, and refined poppy seed oil in a small glass bottle, warming gently in a water bath at around 35 degrees until fully blended. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then add the cedarwood essential oil and shake gently to distribute it evenly throughout the mixture. Allow the blend to rest at room temperature for about an hour before first use. Apply a few drops to palms and work through beard and underlying skin daily to soften texture and reduce dryness.
