High-Purity Isopropanol for Precision Industrial Applications
Isopropyl Alcohol Absolute is a highly refined organic solvent with minimal water content, widely used across electronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, cosmetics, and household chemical formulation. This is one of the core reagents found in the Acids, Salts, Alcohols, and Alkalis section, which brings together components for formulas ranging from simple home projects to large-scale industrial production.
The absolute grade of this alcohol contains almost no residual water, which allows it to dissolve resins, oils, waxes, and greasy residues far more effectively than standard technical alcohol, leaving no streaking after evaporation. This quality is particularly valued in the production of electronics and optics cleaners, as well as in antiseptic solutions for skin and surface disinfection. The 1 liter packaging is well suited for home-scale trial batches - antiseptic sprays, degreasers, tool-cleaning solutions for nail technicians and estheticians, and as a carrier solvent in fragrance compositions.
In cosmetic formulation, isopropanol serves as a solvent for active ingredients and as a supporting component in toners, makeup removers, and cleansing lotions for problem skin. Dosage depends on the specific formula: antiseptic sprays typically contain 60 to 70 percent of the finished product volume, while fragrance compositions use 5 to 15 percent as a carrier for aromatic compounds. The alcohol should be added at the final mixing stage, at room temperature, away from open flame or heat sources, since the product is highly flammable and evaporates quickly.
This solvent blends well with both water and oil phases but requires careful dosing when combined with acidic or alkaline components. In multiphase household cleaning formulas, it can be paired with Citric Acid Monohydrate to adjust the acidity of the finished product, while in certain industrial cleaning processes it works alongside Sodium Hydroxide for degreasing and surface preparation formulas. Isopropanol is also used as an auxiliary solvent in amino acid based compositions, including formulas containing Glutamic Acid, when developing restorative and hydrating skin care blends.
Store the alcohol in a tightly sealed container, away from heat sources, open flame, and direct sunlight, in a well-ventilated area. Containers should be made of alcohol-resistant materials such as glass or dense plastic with a secure lid. When handling the product, gloves are recommended and proper room ventilation should be maintained, as alcohol vapors are volatile and can accumulate in enclosed spaces.
Electronics and Optics Cleaning Solution
Isopropyl Alcohol Absolute - 900 ml
Distilled water - 90 ml
Glycerin - 10 ml
Combine
the alcohol with distilled water in a clean glass container, stirring gently
until fully blended. Add the glycerin to reduce residue buildup on delicate
surfaces and mix again until the solution becomes uniform. Transfer the
finished solution into a dark glass or plastic spray bottle, seal tightly, and
let it rest for a few hours in a cool place before first use to allow the
components to stabilize.
