Cetiol Ultimate is a modern synthetic cosmetic emollient designed to create light sensory profile in skincare formulations. The ingredient appears as a clear colorless to slightly yellow liquid with neutral odor.

The material dissolves easily in oils and lipid components and is incorporated into the oil phase of emulsions or anhydrous formulations. Formula example lightweight body emulsion

Purified water 600 ml
Glycerin 50 g
Cetiol Ultimate 100 ml
Grapeseed oil 80 ml
Olivem 1000 emulsifier 40 g
Panthenol 12 g
Allantoin 3 g
Vitamin E 2 g
Preservative system 2 g

The aqueous phase is heated and glycerin is dissolved until uniform. In a separate vessel Cetiol Ultimate, grapeseed oil and Olivem 1000 are heated until the emulsifier melts forming the oil phase. The oil phase is slowly incorporated into the water phase under mixing to create an emulsion. After partial cooling panthenol and allantoin are added and mixed thoroughly. Vitamin E is incorporated and mixing continues until homogeneous texture forms. Finally the preservative system is added and pH is adjusted to a stable range suitable for emulsion systems. The final result is a light body emulsion with smooth silky texture.
