Cosmetic Recipe: Nourishing Sweet Almond Body Lotion

Instructions:

1. Phase A: In a heat-resistant beaker, combine distilled water and glycerin (and xanthan gum if using, disperse well to avoid clumps). Heat to 70-75°C (158-167°F).
2. Phase B: In a separate heat-resistant beaker, combine emulsifying wax NF, sweet almond oil, and shea butter. Heat to 70-75°C (158-167°F) until all ingredients are fully melted and clear.
3. Emulsification: Slowly pour Phase B into Phase A while continuously mixing with a stick blender or high-shear mixer. Continue mixing until a smooth, uniform emulsion forms.
4. Cooling: Continue to mix intermittently as the lotion cools. This helps maintain the emulsion's stability and consistency. Cool to approximately 40°C (104°F).
5. Phase C & D Addition: Once cooled, add the Aromatic Sweet Almond Extract, preservative, and Vitamin E. Mix thoroughly to ensure even dispersion of all ingredients.
6. Finalize: Transfer the finished lotion into clean, sanitized bottles or jars.
