Instructions:

1. Prepare Phase A: In a heat-resistant beaker, combine distilled water and glycerin. Slowly sprinkle xanthan gum over the surface while vigorously stirring with a whisk or stick blender until fully hydrated and no lumps remain. Heat Phase A to 70-75°C (158-167°F).
2. Prepare Phase B: In a separate heat-resistant beaker, combine emulsifying wax NF, sweet almond oil, and shea butter. Heat Phase B to 70-75°C (158-167°F) until all ingredients are completely melted and clear.
3. Emulsification: Slowly pour Phase B into Phase A while continuously mixing with a stick blender or high-shear mixer. Blend for 2-3 minutes to ensure a stable emulsion.
4. Cooling: Continue mixing occasionally as the emulsion cools down to approximately 40°C (104°F). This helps the lotion thicken and become uniform.
5. Add Phase C: Once cooled, add the Aromatic Sweet Almond Extract, preservative, and Vitamin E. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
6. pH Adjustment (Optional): Check the pH of the lotion. If it's too high (above 5.5), add a few drops of lactic acid solution at a time, mixing well after each addition, until the desired pH of 5.0-5.5 is achieved.
7. Bottle: Transfer the finished lotion into a clean, sanitized pump bottle or jar.
