Heat-Resistant Mineral Powder Built for Large-Scale Manufacturing
Magnesium Oxide Powder supplied in 25 kg bags is a dense industrial reagent valued for its high melting point, strong alkaline reactivity, and ability to neutralize acids reliably at scale. This product belongs to the Acids and Alkalis Wholesale section, which brings together reagents intended for factories and production lines that need consistent bulk supply rather than small lab-scale purchases. A 25 kg pack is designed for continuous manufacturing environments where raw material turnover happens daily.
The largest demand for magnesium oxide comes from the construction and refractory industry, where it is used to produce magnesia binders, xylolite flooring, heat-insulating panels, and fire-resistant bricks for furnace linings. Because the material withstands contact with molten metal, it is also used in crucible coatings and protective furnace linings. Agriculture is the second major consumer, using the powder as a magnesium source in animal feed supplements and soil mineral blends. In chemical manufacturing, magnesium oxide neutralizes acidic wastewater streams and serves as an intermediate reagent in producing magnesium salts, while in the rubber industry it is added to compounds to increase tensile strength and durability of finished rubber goods.
In food processing, the powder functions as an acidity regulator and anti-caking agent in dry blends, while in personal care manufacturing it works as a mild oil-absorbing agent and thickener in color cosmetics, toothpaste, and deodorant formulas. When acidic components are present in a process, magnesium oxide is often introduced for controlled neutralization; for instance, alongside Oxalic Acid it is used in certain surface treatment and cleaning processes where precise pH control matters. In alkaline processing lines, magnesium oxide can complement Washing Soda (Soda Ash), adding a buffering effect where a milder alkalinity is needed without a sharp pH spike. In production facilities handling acidic reagents, including Nitric Acid, magnesium oxide powder is commonly used to safely neutralize residues before wastewater disposal.
Dosage depends heavily on the application: in construction binders the share can reach 30-40 percent of the mix by weight, in feed supplements it is calculated per animal requirement for magnesium, and in cosmetic formulations 1-5 percent is usually sufficient. The powder is best introduced during dry blending at room temperature, since no heating is required and it disperses easily into powdered mixes. When working with water-based emulsions, pre-dispersing the powder helps avoid clumping. Storage should be in a dry area with tightly sealed packaging, since prolonged exposure to humid air causes the material to gradually absorb carbon dioxide and moisture, reducing its reactivity. For 25 kg industrial volumes, palletized storage away from acidic reagents and high-humidity zones is recommended.
Refractory Magnesia Blend for Insulation Panels
Magnesium oxide 700 g
Magnesium chloride 350 g
Water 900 ml
Dry wood sawdust 400 g
Expanded perlite 150 g
Dissolve
the magnesium chloride completely in water in a separate container, then
gradually add the magnesium oxide while stirring continuously until a uniform
paste forms. Mix in the sawdust and perlite, blending thoroughly until the
fillers are evenly distributed throughout the paste. Pour the finished mixture
into a mold and allow it to set at room temperature for 24-48 hours, then
remove the panel and let it air-dry for several more days until it reaches full
hardness.
