Product Description
A Natural Abrasive Bridging Spa Care and Industrial Processing
Corn scrub BIO is made from finely ground corn cob particles that combine natural firmness with a gentle enough structure to make them one of the most widely used plant-based abrasives worldwide. This material belongs to the Scrubs for Cosmetic Production category, where it serves as a base for body scrubs, facial gommages, foot exfoliants and professional spa treatments. The 1 kg pack is aimed at small-batch studios and light industrial manufacturing, where regular production runs need a predictable volume of raw material without frequent small reorders.
The leading application of corn scrub lies in the cosmetic industry: it is used in formulations for body scrubs, exfoliating creams, masks for problem-prone skin, and in products for pedicure studios and spa facilities. Corn cob particles lack sharp edges, so they remove dead skin cells gently without micro-tearing, which makes the material suitable even for sensitive areas. Beyond cosmetics, ground corn cob is widely used in industrial cleaning and polishing as a soft blasting or buffing media for removing residue from metal surfaces, electronic components and precision parts without damaging the substrate, as well as in household cleaning and polishing formulations where a gentle abrasive action is required.
In formulations, corn scrub is typically added during the mixing stage into an oil or gel base, at a cold or slightly warmed phase around 35-40 degrees Celsius, to avoid breaking down the particle structure and losing its exfoliating properties. Standard dosage ranges from 10 to 30 percent of the total formula depending on the desired scrubbing intensity. The material pairs well with vegetable oils, clays, honey and other natural abrasives - for instance, to build blends with varying levels of coarseness, corn scrub is often combined with the gentler Amaranth Scrub for delicate facial exfoliation or with the coarser Pomegranate Seed Scrub for intensive body and heel treatments. A small amount of Amber Powder is often added to such blends for decorative color and a subtle fragrance note.
Corn scrub should be stored in a dry area away from direct sunlight, in a tightly sealed container, since plant-based raw material tends to absorb moisture from the air and lose its free-flowing texture. When storage conditions are respected, the material retains its abrasive performance for an extended period, which matters for manufacturers planning purchases several months ahead. The 1 kg format allows production teams to calculate batch costs accurately and keep formulations consistent as output scales up.
