A Botanical Active That Calms Reactive and Sensitive Skin
Neutrazen is a concentrated biological extract derived from the bark of Albizia julibrissin, a plant long recognized in dermatological formulation for its ability to reduce irritation, redness and discomfort on reactive skin. The primary field of application for this raw material is the manufacturing of skincare products for sensitive, reactive skin, as well as formulations aimed at oily and blemish-prone skin with overactive sebaceous glands. Thanks to its sebum-regulating and soothing properties, this active is widely used in developing creams, serums, emulsions and toners both in home laboratories and on industrial production lines of cosmetic brands. This product belongs to the category Actives for Sensitive Skin, which brings together ingredients designed to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce reactivity to external triggers.
The 5 ml packaging is well suited for home cosmetic making and small trial batches, allowing formulators to test concentration and compatibility before scaling up a recipe. This volume is convenient for beginner cosmetic chemists and small studios wanting to introduce a working sebum-regulating ingredient into their line without large purchases. Neutrazen should be added to the cool-down phase of a formulation, once the base emulsion has cooled to no more than 40 degrees, to preserve the activity of its biological compounds. The recommended usage rate typically ranges from 1 to 3 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired intensity and the type of finished product.
This extract pairs well with other calming and anti-inflammatory ingredients, making it possible to build comprehensive formulas for reactive skin types. For instance, an effective combination can be achieved with PhytoDefense 10 ml, which complements Neutrazen through plant-based antioxidants and protective phytocompounds, reinforcing the overall barrier-supporting effect of the finished formula. In recipes for blemish-prone and inflammation-prone skin, a strong synergy is achieved with Nizaftem 5 g, which helps manage the surface microbial load and lowers the risk of recurring breakouts. For formulas focused on extra gentleness and reduced allergic response, it is worth adding DEFENSIL PLUS 5 g, a component that enhances the anti-inflammatory effect and further stabilizes the skin's barrier function.
Neutrazen should be stored in a tightly sealed container, kept in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent oxidation of its active compounds. Once the bottle is opened, it is best to use the contents within the period specified by the manufacturer, minimizing exposure to air. The ingredient remains stable across a wide pH range of finished products, making it convenient for use in various cosmetic systems, from lightweight gels to rich cream emulsions.
Calming Facial Serum for Reactive Skin
Neutrazen 3 ml
Distilled water 70 ml
Vegetable glycerin 5 ml
Xanthan gum 0.5 g
Panthenol 3 ml
Mild emulsifier 4 ml
Grapeseed oil 10 ml
Broad spectrum preservative 1.5 ml
Dissolve
the xanthan gum gradually into room-temperature distilled water, stirring
thoroughly until a smooth gel forms without lumps. Separately, combine the
grapeseed oil with the mild emulsifier and warm the mixture to 40 degrees over
a water bath, then slowly incorporate this oil phase into the water gel while
stirring continuously until a uniform texture is achieved. Once the mixture has
cooled to room temperature, add the glycerin, panthenol and preservative,
mixing until fully blended, and finally add Neutrazen, stirring gently until
the active is completely dissolved. Transfer the finished serum into a clean
dispenser bottle and allow it to stabilize for 24 hours before first use.
