Getting a Clear, Stable Gel Texture Without Lumps or Separation
Neutrazen is a ready-to-use neutralizing solution applied to adjust the acidity of cosmetic and technical formulations while simultaneously unlocking the thickening power of acrylic polymers such as carbomer. This product belongs to the category of pH Neutralizers/Correctors, which brings together components for precise correction of acid-alkaline balance in formulations across many industries. The 1 liter package is aimed not at a single home trial but at studio-scale or small-batch production, where consistent results from batch to batch matter.
The main application of this solution is in the manufacture of gels, creams, lotions, and emulsions built on acrylic thickeners. When Neutrazen is introduced into a carbomer dispersion, the acidic groups of the polymer are neutralized, the chains uncoil, viscosity rises sharply, and a clear, uniform gel forms. Beyond cosmetics, similar neutralizing solutions are used in household chemical production - laundry gels, dishwashing liquids - and in certain technical formulations where acidity of the water phase needs to be stabilized.
The product should be introduced gradually, in small portions, under constant stirring, to avoid local excess alkalinity and breakdown of the gel structure. The optimal addition temperature is room temperature or a slightly warmed phase, around 25-35 degrees, without strong heating, since overheating can reduce the thickener's efficiency. Dosage is selected individually depending on the amount of carbomer in the formula and usually ranges from a few tenths up to a couple of percent of the total mass - the exact amount is determined experimentally until the desired thickness is reached.
Neutrazen works well alongside other supporting ingredients in a formula. For instance, to further adjust flow and solubility of active substances, formulators often use Ethoxydiglycol, which helps distribute poorly soluble ingredients evenly throughout the gel. In some systems, this neutralizer is paired with Triethanolamine, another alkaline compound capable of reinforcing the neutralizing effect in combined formulations. To add moisturizing and conditioning properties to the composition, formulators sometimes include amino acid L Arginine, which is well tolerated alongside the neutralized gel without affecting its stability.
Store the product in a tightly closed container, in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. After opening, use the contents within a reasonable time, avoiding contamination or moisture entering the container, to keep the solution stable throughout its period of use.
Clear Aloe Gel Base for Small-Batch Production
Distilled water 500 ml
Carbomer 2 g
Neutrazen 6 ml
Aloe vera extract 20 ml
Ethoxydiglycol 10 g
Fragrance oil 3 ml
Disperse
the carbomer slowly into the water while stirring, then let it hydrate for
30-40 minutes without agitation. Under gentle stirring, add Neutrazen in small
portions until a thick, clear gel forms. Separately blend the aloe vera extract
with Ethoxydiglycol and mix it into the base, then add the fragrance oil at the
end and stir until uniform before filling the gel into clean containers.
