Building stable oil-in-water creams with a self-emulsifying system from Natura Tec
Natura Tec Emulactive ISO in a 1 kg pack is a ready-made self-emulsifying complex that belongs to the category of emulsifiers
and is widely used in the manufacture of creams, lotions, body and facial emulsions, as well as in certain household chemical formulations where a stable bond between water and oil phases is required. The 1 kg pack size suits small-batch and studio-scale production, giving independent brands and small workshops enough raw material for regular production runs while keeping full control over the formula and finished product quality.
The primary purpose of this component is forming oil-in-water emulsions with a soft texture and stable consistency throughout the shelf life of the finished product. Global demand for this type of self-emulsifying system remains consistently strong in the cosmetic manufacturing sector, since it simplifies the production process, reduces the number of separate ingredients in a formula, and delivers predictable results even without complex laboratory equipment. Beyond skincare, similar emulsifying systems are used in industrial production of hand and body creams, where batch-to-batch texture consistency is essential.
The emulsifier is typically added to the oil phase of a formula and heated together with oils and fats to around 70-75 degrees Celsius, then combined with a water phase preheated to the same temperature under continuous stirring. Recommended dosage usually ranges from 3 to 8 percent of the total formula weight depending on the desired thickness and emulsion stability. This component pairs well with vegetable oils, silicones, as well as thickeners and stabilizers commonly used in cosmetic formulations. For denser, more structured creams, formulators often add stearic acid, which gives the finished product a firmer consistency and helps stabilize its structure during storage. Some niche formulas designed for mature or dry skin also incorporate rose wax, which contributes a distinctive texture and a subtle natural scent to the cream. This emulsifier can also be combined with other emulsifying systems, such as Olivem 1000, to achieve blended textures and lighter, fast-absorbing creams.
Store the component in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, in a tightly closed container to prevent contact with air moisture. When storage conditions are respected, the product retains its emulsifying properties throughout the shelf life stated by the manufacturer. Before processing a large batch, it is advisable to run a small trial mix first to fine-tune the concentration for the specific formula and production equipment.
Daily face cream with Natura Tec Emulactive ISO
Distilled water 70 g
Sweet almond oil 7 g
Shea butter 6 g
Natura Tec Emulactive ISO 5 g
Glycerin 4 g
Preservative 1 g
Vitamin E 0.5 g
Fragrance 0.5 g
Combine
the shea butter, almond oil, and Natura Tec Emulactive ISO in the oil phase and
heat over a water bath to 72 degrees Celsius until fully melted. Separately
heat the water with glycerin to the same temperature, then slowly pour the
water phase into the oil phase while mixing continuously with a hand mixer for
4-5 minutes until a uniform emulsion forms. Cool the mixture with constant
stirring down to 40 degrees, then add the preservative, vitamin E, and
fragrance, mix thoroughly, and pour the finished cream into prepared
containers.
