Lakesis for Firming Skin Care and Advanced Anti-Aging Cosmetic Formulations
Lakesis is a premium botanical cosmetic active developed for modern skincare formulations designed to improve the appearance of mature skin and support a firmer, smoother-looking complexion. Combining a natural mastic tree extract with a lightweight cosmetic emollient, this ingredient has become a valuable component in high-performance skincare products. Within the Anti-Age Actives category, Lakesis is widely used in innovative cosmetic formulations intended for professional and premium daily skincare.
According to the INCI declaration, Lakesis consists of Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride and Pistacea Lentiscus (Mastic) Gum Extract. The active botanical extract is obtained from the resin of Pistacia lentiscus, a Mediterranean tree traditionally valued for its unique natural composition. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride serves as a lightweight emollient that improves ingredient distribution, enhances skin feel and facilitates incorporation into a wide variety of cosmetic formulations.
Lakesis is commonly used in anti-aging creams, concentrated facial serums, emulsions, cosmetic oils, facial masks, eye care products, neck and décolleté creams, overnight skincare treatments, SPA formulations, premium salon cosmetics and multifunctional skincare products intended for mature skin.
The ingredient is highly compatible with Hyaluronic Acid, D-Panthenol, Niacinamide, Ceramides, Squalane, Coenzyme Q10, Bakuchiol, Matrixyl peptides, Argireline peptides, Copper Peptides, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hydrolyzed Proteins, Vitamins A, C and E, botanical extracts, antioxidants and natural oils such as Jojoba, Argan and Macadamia Oil. This compatibility allows formulators to create sophisticated cosmetic systems with multiple functional ingredients.
Lakesis enhances the overall sensory quality of cosmetic products, contributes to elegant product texture and integrates seamlessly into premium skincare formulations. Its oil-soluble nature makes it especially suitable for emulsions, creams, facial oils and other lipid-containing cosmetic systems while maintaining excellent formulation stability.
The ingredient is typically incorporated into the oil phase or added during the final manufacturing stage at temperatures below 40°C. It performs well in creams, emulsions, serums, facial oils, balms and other advanced cosmetic products.
Recommended usage levels generally range from 1 to 5%, depending on the formulation type and the raw material supplier's recommendations. The optimal concentration should be selected according to the desired performance and characteristics of the finished cosmetic product.
Store Lakesis in its original tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Proper storage conditions help preserve the stability, quality and technological performance of the ingredient throughout its shelf life.
