Lanolin Complex Solution for Skin and Hair Care Formulations
Lanachrys & Lanachrys2B is a lanolin-based complex widely used in the production of creams, balms, hair conditioners and protective skin formulations. The product belongs to the Solvents and humectants category, since its main function is retaining moisture on the skin surface and along the hair shaft by forming a thin, wash-resistant film. The 1 liter packaging suits studio-scale and small-batch manufacturing, when a formulator or a small lab regularly produces batches of creams, masks and conditioners in noticeable volumes without yet moving to industrial tonnage.
The primary application area for lanolin derivatives is caring for dry, dehydrated and irritation-prone skin, as well as restoring damaged, porous hair. In hair formulations the complex acts as a smoothing and antistatic agent, reducing frizz and making detangling easier after washing. In body creams and balms it functions as an emollient, filling microscopic gaps in the skin barrier and reducing water loss through the epidermis. Beyond cosmetics, lanolin complexes are used in industrial hand protection creams, in animal skin care formulations, and in certain leather care lubricants, which extends the raw material's industrial value well beyond a purely cosmetic niche.
Technologically, Lanachrys & Lanachrys2B is introduced into the oil phase of an emulsion at 60-70 degrees along with other emollients and emulsifiers, after which the mixture is combined with a water phase of the same temperature to form a stable emulsion. Recommended dosage typically ranges from 1 to 5 percent of the total formula weight depending on the desired texture and product purpose - light lotions require the lower end, while rich nourishing creams and balms for very dry skin call for the upper end of the range. The complex pairs well with vegetable oils, silicone alternatives and other humectants, particularly with Liquid Silk, which enhances shine and smoothness in hair care formulas. For added soothing properties the formula can be complemented with St. John's Wort Extract, traditionally used in preparations for irritated and problem-prone skin.
The raw material should be stored in a tightly sealed container, in a dry space at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and sharp temperature fluctuations that could affect the structural stability of the complex. Before processing a large batch it is advisable to run a small trial mix to fine-tune the exact dosage for a specific formula. For labs that need a smaller quantity for testing new formulations, a Lanachrys & Lanachrys2B 5 ml option is available, convenient for pilot experiments before scaling up to full production.
