Lakesis for Firming Skin Care and Advanced Anti-Aging Cosmetic Formulations
Lakesis is a modern plant-derived cosmetic active developed for skincare formulations designed to improve the appearance of mature skin and support a firmer, smoother-looking complexion. Thanks to the combination of natural mastic tree extract and a lightweight cosmetic emollient, this ingredient is widely used in premium professional skincare products. Within the Anti-Age Actives category, Lakesis serves as a functional ingredient for innovative facial, neck and décolleté care formulations.
According to the INCI declaration, Lakesis contains Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride and Pistacea Lentiscus (Mastic) Gum Extract. The botanical extract is obtained from the resin of Pistacia lentiscus, a Mediterranean tree valued for its naturally occurring bioactive compounds. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride functions as a lightweight emollient that improves ingredient distribution, enhances skin feel and contributes to elegant cosmetic textures.
Lakesis is widely incorporated into anti-aging creams, concentrated facial serums, emulsions, cosmetic oils, facial masks, eye care products, neck and décolleté creams, overnight skincare treatments, professional SPA cosmetics, salon skincare lines and premium cosmetic formulations.
The ingredient combines well with Hyaluronic Acid, D-Panthenol, Niacinamide, Ceramides, Squalane, Coenzyme Q10, Bakuchiol, Matrixyl peptides, Argireline peptides, Copper Peptides, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Amino Acids, Vitamins A, C and E, botanical extracts, antioxidants and natural oils including Jojoba, Argan and Macadamia Oil. This compatibility allows formulators to develop multifunctional skincare products with excellent cosmetic performance.
Lakesis improves the sensory characteristics of cosmetic formulations, contributes to a silky skin feel and integrates smoothly into modern anti-aging systems. Its oil-soluble nature makes it suitable for emulsions, anhydrous products, facial oils and advanced skincare formulations while maintaining excellent formulation stability.
The ingredient is typically incorporated into the oil phase or added during the final manufacturing stage at temperatures below 40°C. It is suitable for creams, emulsions, facial serums, cosmetic oils, balms and numerous other skincare applications.
The recommended usage level is generally between 1 and 5%, depending on the formulation type, product concept and the raw material supplier's recommendations. The optimal concentration should be determined during product development according to the desired characteristics of the finished formulation.
Store Lakesis in its original tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight, moisture and excessive heat. Proper storage conditions help preserve the quality, stability and performance of the ingredient throughout its shelf life.
