A Ripe Berry Character That Shapes Beverages and Desserts Worldwide
A fragrant compound known for its distinctive raspberry character has become a staple in beverage manufacturing, confectionery and dessert production across many industries. This item belongs to the Food Flavorings category, which brings together concentrated flavor compounds used to give products a vivid fruity character without depending on seasonal fresh fruit supply. The compact 5 gram pack size is well suited for home preparation, small test batches, and formulation trials before scaling up to larger production runs.
The primary application of this flavoring lies in soft drink manufacturing, syrups, jellies, marmalades, ice cream, yogurts and various confectionery items where a bright berry note is desired. Beyond the food sector, the compound is also widely used in the e-liquid industry for vaping products, valued for its recognizable sweet fruity character, as well as in certain categories of dietary supplements. In perfumery and cosmetic formulations, the ingredient occasionally appears in fragrance blends to add sweetness and depth to fruity accords, though this remains a secondary rather than primary use.
Typical dosage ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 grams per kilogram of finished product, though the exact amount depends on the recipe, desired aroma intensity, and the other components in the formulation. It is recommended to add the flavoring at the final stage of preparation, at temperatures not exceeding 60 degrees Celsius, to preserve volatile aromatic compounds and avoid losing intensity. For cold desserts and beverages, the flavoring can be added right before serving or chilling.
Raspberry flavoring pairs well with a wide range of other flavor compounds and sweeteners. For a balanced flavor profile in beverages and desserts, it is often combined with sodium cyclamate, which adds sweetness without extra calories. Interesting flavor combinations also arise when blending with other fruity notes, such as Duchess flavoring for a more complex pear and berry profile, or Coconut flavoring for a tropical dessert accent.
The flavoring should be stored in a tightly sealed container, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations. Under proper storage conditions the aroma retains its intensity for a long period, which is especially important for small packs that are used gradually over time.
