Product Description
Emulsan Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate plant derived emulsifier flakes for stable cosmetic emulsions
Emulsan is a nonionic emulsifier derived from methyl glucose and stearic acid with INCI Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate. The ingredient appears as solid flakes or thin plates with cream to light beige color. It is incorporated into the oil phase where it melts during heating and forms stable oil in water emulsions. Emulsan is compatible with plant oils fatty alcohols waxes and butters and is widely used in modern cosmetic emulsions. The plant derived origin and mild sensory profile make the ingredient suitable for natural cosmetic formulations.
Properties and skin performance
In cosmetic formulations Emulsan creates dense cream textures with smooth homogeneous structure. Emulsions prepared with this emulsifier provide soft spreading and a velvety sensory finish. Creams and lotions maintain stable texture and balanced oil phase distribution.
Industry applications
Emulsan is used in creams lotions body milk emulsified serums masks and other emulsion based systems. It is applied in facial skincare body care SPA formulations and natural cosmetic lines. The ingredient is also used in formulation bases for decorative cosmetics and personal care products. Its stable emulsifying performance makes it suitable for private label development contract manufacturing and scalable cosmetic production.
Formula example
Emulsan 22 g
Grape seed oil 90 ml
Jojoba oil 80 ml
Shea butter 40 g
Cetearyl alcohol 20 g
Glycerin 65 g
Purified water 420 ml
Allantoin 7 g
Preservative system 2 g
Emulsan is combined with grape seed oil jojoba oil shea butter and cetearyl alcohol and heated until the oil phase melts completely. In a separate vessel purified water glycerin and allantoin are heated and mixed until dissolved. When both phases reach similar temperature the oil phase is incorporated into the aqueous phase under continuous mixing to form a stable emulsion. During cooling mixing continues until the structure stabilizes. The preservative system is then incorporated and pH is adjusted to a balanced range suitable for cream emulsions. The result is a stable cream with smooth texture.
Emulsan is designed for B2B cosmetic manufacturers contract laboratories and private label developers. The ingredient provides reliable emulsification compatibility with various formulation systems and reproducible performance in scalable industrial production.
