Product Description
Zinc PCA functional active for cosmetic skin and hair care formulations
Zinc PCA is a functional cosmetic ingredient formed as a complex of zinc and pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, a component associated with natural moisturizing systems of the skin. The ingredient is widely used in modern cosmetic formulations due to its compatibility with aqueous systems, gels and emulsions. Zinc PCA can be easily incorporated into various formulation systems and is commonly used in skin care and hair care products. The ingredient is applied in serums, toners, creams, cleansing products and gel based formulations. Due to its stability and reproducibility Zinc PCA is widely used in formulation laboratories, private label development and industrial cosmetic manufacturing. The ingredient is compatible with a wide range of functional actives and formulation components.
Properties and formulation behavior
Within cosmetic formulations Zinc PCA contributes to lightweight and balanced textures. In serums and toners it supports clear and fluid formulations with uniform distribution of components. In creams and emulsions it helps form stable structures. In gel systems it maintains clarity and homogeneity. In scalp care formulations the ingredient distributes evenly and supports the development of light cosmetic compositions.
Applications across industries
Zinc PCA is used in multiple formulation sectors. In cosmetic manufacturing it is incorporated into serums, creams, gels, toners and cleansing products. In hair care it is used in shampoos, conditioners, masks and scalp care formulations. In SPA applications it is used in body care systems. In pharmaceutical development it is used as a formulation component. In functional product development it is incorporated into complex systems. The ingredient is suitable for private label development, contract manufacturing and large scale industrial production.
Recipe for balancing skin toner
Distilled water — 70 ml
Lavender hydrosol — 20 ml
Glycerin — 6 ml
Zinc PCA — 2 g
Niacinamide — 3 g
Green tea extract — 5 ml
Cosmetic preservative — 1 ml
Preparation process
Distilled water is combined with lavender hydrosol to form the aqueous base. Glycerin is incorporated and mixed until evenly distributed. Zinc PCA is added and mixed until fully dissolved. Niacinamide is introduced and the formulation is mixed until a clear solution is obtained. Green tea extract is then added and mixed until uniform. At the final stage the preservative is incorporated and the formulation is mixed until a stable toner suitable for cosmetic manufacturing is achieved.
