Product Description
Zinc PCA functional ingredient for cosmetic formulations and dermatological systems
Zinc PCA is a functional cosmetic ingredient formed as a complex of zinc and pyrrolidone carboxylic acid. The ingredient is widely used in modern cosmetic formulations due to its compatibility with aqueous systems, gels and emulsions. Zinc PCA integrates easily into various formulation systems and is used as an active component in skin care and hair care products. The ingredient is commonly used in serums, creams, gels, toners and cleansing formulations. Due to its stability and reproducibility Zinc PCA is widely used in formulation laboratories, private label development and industrial cosmetic manufacturing.
Properties and formulation behavior
Within cosmetic formulations Zinc PCA contributes to balanced texture formation and uniform distribution of components. In serums and toners it provides lightweight texture and clear formulations. In creams and emulsions it supports stable consistency. In gel systems it maintains clarity and uniform structure.
Applications across industries
Zinc PCA is widely used across multiple industries. In cosmetic manufacturing it is applied in serums, creams, gels, toners and cleansing products. In hair care it is incorporated into shampoos, conditioners and masks. In SPA applications it is used in body care formulations. In pharmaceutical development it is used as a formulation component. In functional products it is incorporated into complex systems. The ingredient is suitable for private label development, contract manufacturing and large scale industrial production.
Recipe for sebum control serum
Distilled water — 65 ml
Witch hazel hydrosol — 20 ml
Glycerin — 8 ml
Zinc PCA — 2 g
Niacinamide — 4 g
Panthenol — 2 ml
Cosmetic preservative — 1 ml
Preparation process
Distilled water is combined with witch hazel hydrosol to form the aqueous base. Glycerin is incorporated and mixed until evenly distributed. Zinc PCA is added and mixed until fully dissolved. Niacinamide is introduced and the formulation is mixed until a clear solution is obtained. Panthenol is added and mixed until uniform. At the final stage the preservative is added and the formulation is mixed until a stable serum suitable for cosmetic manufacturing is achieved.
