Building Long-Lasting Hydration Through Osmoprotective Technology
Osmhydran LS 8453 is an active ingredient designed to deliver deep hydration and support the skin's water balance at a cellular level. This compound belongs to the group of osmoprotectants - substances that help skin cells retain moisture even under stress conditions such as cold weather, urban pollution, UV exposure or frequent contact with cleansing products. That is why this ingredient is featured in the Moisturizing actives section, which brings together components for formulating products with pronounced hydrating and restoring effects.
The main application area for Osmhydran LS 8453 is the production of facial and body care cosmetics: creams, emulsions, serums, lotions, as well as after-sun products and formulas for sensitive skin. The ingredient is widely used in developing anti-fatigue skin care lines, products for dry and dehydrated skin, and formulas designed to protect against harsh environmental factors. Beyond cosmetics, similar osmoprotective actives attract interest from manufacturers of dermatological products and professional care items used in salons and spas.
The 1 kg packaging is suited for studio-scale production and small-batch lines, as well as for initial test formulations before scaling up to larger production volumes. This amount is typically enough for several dozen liters of finished emulsion depending on the formulation concentration, making the product convenient both for small cosmetic brands and for laboratories developing new formulas.
It is recommended to introduce the component at the final stage of emulsion preparation, into the water phase, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius to preserve molecular activity. Typical dosage ranges from 1 to 5 percent of the total formula weight, with the exact amount depending on the desired hydration level and product type. The ingredient pairs well with other moisturizing and restoring actives, such as Day Moist, which enhances moisture retention, and Fucogel, known for its soothing and softening properties. For a more complex care approach, formulators often add Abisoft, a multifunctional ingredient that further improves the texture of the finished product.
Osmhydran LS 8453 should be stored in a tightly sealed container, in a dry and cool place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent loss of activity. Once opened, the product should be used within a reasonable timeframe while following basic hygiene practices when handling raw materials.
