Green Lipstick Pigment for lip color balms glosses and creative makeup
Green Lipstick Pigment is a color ingredient for decorative lip products such as lipsticks, tinted balms, lip glosses, cream palettes and creative makeup formats. For lip products, the pigment must be confirmed as suitable for lip use in the intended market.
Formulation role
A green pigment can be used as the main color in creative lip products or as a correcting pigment in shade development. Small amounts can adjust undertones in red, pink, brown and nude formulas. Higher levels can create a bold green lipstick, fantasy makeup product or editorial color.
The pigment does not create stick hardness, gloss or glide by itself. Those properties come from waxes, oils, butters, esters and film-forming materials. The pigment provides color and must be dispersed properly for an even result.
Processing and compatibility
Green pigment should be pre-dispersed in castor oil or another suitable liquid emollient before incorporation into the melted base. This helps reduce specks, streaks and uneven payoff.
The finished product should be tested for color in bulk, color in a thin layer, particle feel, stability after cooling, odor and packaging compatibility. A pigment suitable for soap, candles or crafts should not be assumed suitable for lipstick.

Pre-disperse the green pigment in part of the castor oil until a smooth color paste forms. In a separate vessel, combine the remaining castor oil, jojoba oil, caprylic capric triglycerides, shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax and candelilla wax. Heat until all solid materials are fully melted.
Add the pigment paste to the melted base and mix until the color is uniform. Add lip-safe mica and cosmetic silica with continued mixing. Introduce vitamin e and lip flavor at the appropriate stage.
Pour into balm tubes, pots or suitable stick packaging before the mass begins to set. Allow the product to stabilize, then check color uniformity, glide, surface quality and package performance.
Quality control
Lip products with green pigment should be checked for documentation, lip-use suitability, uniform dispersion, color stability, particle feel, odor and packaging compatibility. The best results come from using a verified lip-safe pigment, a balanced wax and oil base, and proper pigment dispersion before filling.
