The Melta Clear soap base in a 12 kg block is designed for workshops and small-batch studios that need a consistent supply of raw material without frequent reordering. This product belongs to the Melt and Pour Soap Bases category, which brings together ready-to-melt masses for quick mold casting without cooking from scratch. The clarity of this base makes it ideal for layered designs, embedded pigments, dried flowers, and glitter inclusions, since the finished piece stays clean and visually crisp even in complex patterns.

The main use of this base is crafting bar soap for skin care, decorative soap pieces, and gift or souvenir items, as well as studio-scale production runs for retail batches. Working with the material is straightforward: cut it into cubes and melt it in a double boiler or microwave at around 60-70 degrees Celsius, avoiding boiling, which breaks down the structure and causes cloudiness. Once melted, fragrance oils are added at roughly 3-5 ml per 100 g of base, colorants drop by drop until the desired shade is reached, and carrier oils or extracts at no more than one teaspoon per 100 g to keep the setting process and transparency intact.

This clear base pairs naturally with other bases for layered bar designs: it is often combined with Soap Base Shea Butter Melta 12 kg to add a nourishing opaque layer on top of the transparent one, or alternated with Soap base Melta Olive 12 kg for contrasting striped bars in a single mold. Another popular combination is with Caramel Melta Soap Base 12 kg, whose warm tone contrasts nicely against the clear layer in two-tone bars.

When working with a large block, it helps to portion it out in advance and store unused pieces in tightly sealed bags or containers, away from moisture and direct sunlight, so the base does not dull or develop condensation droplets on the surface after setting. Keep the product at room temperature, away from heating sources, in a dry storage area. For industrial or line production, this format allows raw material to be scheduled into the manufacturing cycle in full batches without frequent resupply, simplifying planning and reducing logistics overhead on the production floor.

Do not rush the setting stage - the recommended waiting time before unmolding ranges from 40 minutes to several hours depending on mold size and bar thickness. Finished bars can be wrapped in film right away to hold their shape and preserve the fragrance longer.

Citrus Swirl Bar with Gold Flecks

Melta Clear soap base 380 g

Sweet orange fragrance oil 14 ml

Orange liquid colorant 3 drops

Gold mica flecks 3 g

Sweet almond oil 4 ml

Cut the base into cubes and melt it in a double boiler at about 65 degrees, stirring gently and avoiding boiling. Add the almond oil and colorant, mix until fully blended, then remove from heat and let the mixture cool to around 55 degrees before stirring in the fragrance oil. Sprinkle in the gold mica flecks and swirl briefly with a skewer to create a marbled pattern rather than an even color. Pour into the mold, spritz the surface with isopropyl alcohol to release trapped air bubbles, and leave to set at room temperature for at least two hours before removing the bar.
