Warm Metallic Gold Pigment Ideal for Small Test Batches
Super Gold Mica in a compact 3 gram jar delivers a rich, warm golden shimmer created by a natural layered mineral coated with iron oxide and titanium dioxide. This small format is perfect for hobbyists testing a new formula at home, developers trialing a shade before committing to a larger production run, or anyone needing just enough pigment for a single project. This pigment belongs to the Mica Powders category, which brings together pearlescent mineral colorants used across a wide range of industries.
The most common use of this shade is in eyeshadow, highlighter, bronzer, lipstick and lip gloss formulations, as well as nail lacquers and body art products. Golden tones are especially popular in festive and evening makeup lines where a strong metallic finish is desired. Beyond color cosmetics, mica is widely used in candle making, epoxy resin art, polymer clay, slime and scrapbooking supplies, since its mineral structure withstands high wax melting temperatures and alkaline environments without losing its shimmer.
For best results, add the pigment during the final stage of production once the base has cooled to around 40-60 degrees Celsius, which applies to creams, balms and wax blends. In cold-process systems such as finished gels or clear bases, stir the mica in right before pouring to prevent particle settling. Typical dosage for color cosmetics ranges from 2 to 10 percent of total product weight, while epoxy resin and soap bases generally require only 0.5 to 3 percent by volume. The exact amount depends on the desired shimmer intensity and the density of the finished product.
This pigment blends beautifully with other pearlescent and glitter additives, allowing for layered and gradient effects. The warm golden hue pairs naturally with the soft pearl tone of Super Pear Mica for smooth transitions in eyeshadow palettes, while a cool contrast can be achieved by combining it with Super BIue Mica. Fans of earthy, natural tones may also appreciate Tibetian Ocher Mica, which complements the golden pigment nicely in autumn and bronze themed collections.
Store the pigment in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and moisture, at room temperature. Humidity can cause the fine particles to clump together, so the jar should always be closed firmly after each use. Under proper storage conditions the pigment retains its color stability and performance for a long time.
