A plant-derived concentrate valued for skin conditioning and hair care formulations
Hemp oil extract is produced by extracting the seeds of the plant into a carrier oil, which allows fatty acids, tocopherols, phytosterols and other lipid compounds naturally present in hemp seeds to transfer into the finished concentrate. This ingredient belongs to the Oil Extracts category, which brings together plant extracts used across cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries. Globally, the strongest demand for hemp oil extract comes from manufacturers of skincare products aimed at dry, dehydrated and irritated skin, as well as developers of hair growth and strengthening formulas, which remain the leading application areas for this raw material.
In cosmetic manufacturing the extract is added to face and body creams, serums, lip balms, after-sun and after-shave products, shampoos, hair masks and conditioners, massage oils and spa blends. Its conditioning properties make it particularly useful in formulas targeting sensitive or flaky skin. Beyond cosmetics, the extract is used as a supporting additive in scented candle production, in pharmaceutical practice for emollient ointments and liniments, and in some food industry applications as an oil-based additive. Recommended dosage ranges from 2 to 10 percent of the finished formula, and the extract should be introduced during the cold-mixing stage at temperatures not exceeding 40-45 degrees to preserve heat-sensitive active compounds.
Hemp oil extract combines well with other botanical extracts within multi-component formulations. For an enhanced moisturizing effect it is often paired with Seaweed Oil Extract, for a toning effect on skin it is combined with Barberry oil extract, and for added antioxidant support it is blended with Cranberry Oil Extract. Such combinations allow formulators to build multifunctional products without overloading the recipe with active ingredients.
The 100 ml packaging is well suited for home-based cosmetic making, trial batches and small studio production runs, where precise dosing without excess raw material is important. The extract should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which helps maintain the stability of its lipid compounds throughout the shelf period.
