Product Description
A concentrated antioxidant booster for high-performance formulations
Green tea CO2 extract is obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, a method that preserves an unusually rich complex of polyphenols, catechins and other bioactive compounds naturally found in fresh camellia sinensis leaves. Unlike conventional alcohol or oil-based extractions, the CO2 process avoids damaging heat-sensitive compounds and leaves no solvent residue, which is why formulators rely on it when stability and potency matter most. The compact 5 g pack size is well suited for lab testing, pilot batches and home-based cosmetic making, allowing precise dosing without wasting raw material. This product belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together concentrated botanical extracts for both professional and home formulation work.
The primary application of this extract lies in facial and body skincare - serums, emulsions, creams and toners built around antioxidant protection against environmental stress and visible signs of fatigue. It is widely used in formulations for sensitive or redness-prone skin, as well as in anti-aging lines where slowing oxidative processes is a key goal. Beyond skincare, the extract finds use in functional beverage and supplement development thanks to its catechin concentration, and occasionally in household chemical formulas positioned around plant-derived active ingredients. Typical dosage ranges from 0.1 to 1% of the total formula weight, added at the final stage of preparation into a cold or lightly warmed phase not exceeding 40 degrees, to prevent degradation of the active compounds under heat.
Green tea extract pairs well with other botanical concentrates from the CO2 line: it can be combined with Black Tea CO2 Extract for a layered antioxidant blend, with toning Sage CO2 Extract in formulas for problematic skin, and with Geranium CO2 extract for a more balanced effect on skin tone. Combining these extracts allows formulators to enhance overall performance without raising the total dosage of active substances. Store the extract in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations, since polyphenolic compounds are prone to oxidation with prolonged exposure to air and light.
