Resinous Guggul Concentrate for Oily and Blemish-Prone Skin Care
Guggul is a resin harvested from the Commiphora tree, long used in traditional Ayurvedic body care and in incense making. CO2 extraction pulls out a concentrate of resinous acids and aromatic compounds without thermal degradation and without leaving solvent residues, which is why formulators value it for its stability and rich profile of active constituents. CO2 Guggul extract 5 g belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together concentrated natural complexes for professional formulation work.
The main application of guggul lies in skincare for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin: toning serums, sebum-balancing creams, body lotions and firming or cellulite-targeting blends. Its resinous compounds are traditionally valued for giving skin a firmer, more toned appearance, and for their warm balsamic aroma, which perfumers and aromatherapy blenders often rely on for massage oils, candles and sachets. In fragrance compositions guggul frequently serves as a base note that anchors lighter, more volatile ingredients.
In formulations the extract pairs well with other CO2 concentrates that reinforce toning and warming effects. For firming and warming body treatments it is often combined with Ginger CO2 extract, while for toning creams and anti-puffiness formulas it works well alongside CO2 Extract of Green Coffee. These pairings complement each other and allow the creation of multifunctional body care products. At the same time, guggul is not intended for delicate skin care, including for babies — for that purpose the range offers a separate gentle Complex CO2 extract for baby skin, specially balanced for sensitive skin.
In a formula guggul is typically dosed at around 0.1 to 0.5 percent of the total product weight, added during the cooling stage of an emulsion or base once the temperature drops below 40 degrees, to preserve the activity of its volatile resinous compounds. The extract dissolves readily in the oil phase and fatty bases, making it convenient for balms, body butters, massage oils and other anhydrous blends. The 5 gram size is aimed primarily at home cosmetic making and trial batches, useful for testing concentration and scent before scaling up a recipe. Store the concentrate in a tightly closed container, in a cool dark place, ideally refrigerated, away from direct light and heat sources.
