Why Manufacturers Choose Amaranth CO2 Extract for Squalene-Rich Formulations
The 1 kg pack of Amaranth CO2 Extract is designed for production facilities and contract manufacturers that require a consistent raw material supply for continuous batch runs. This concentrate belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together plant concentrates obtained through supercritical extraction without solvents, preserving the natural composition of the source material far better than conventional methods.
Amaranth CO2 extract is valued mainly for its high content of squalene, tocopherols and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which makes it a popular functional ingredient in anti-aging creams, restorative serums, body oils and formulations for dry and mature skin. It is also widely used in hair care products, where squalene helps support the scalp's lipid barrier, as well as in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production as a plant-based source of squalene, an alternative to animal-derived sources, and in functional food supplements and capsules.
In industrial formulations the extract is typically introduced into the oil phase once the temperature of the mixture has cooled to around 40-45 degrees Celsius, protecting the heat-sensitive active compounds. Recommended usage rates range from 1 to 5 percent of the finished product, depending on the application, while anhydrous balms and concentrated oil blends can tolerate a higher share of up to 8-10 percent.
Amaranth concentrate blends well with other botanical CO2 extracts, allowing formulators to build multifunctional complexes. For cooling and toning body formulas it is often paired with Peppermint CO2 Extract, while warming massage blends and formulas for problem skin frequently combine it with Ginger CO2 extract. For sensitive and irritated skin formulas, amaranth is often paired with Echinacea CO2 Extract, since this combination reinforces the restorative properties of the final product.
The extract should be stored in a sealed container, away from light and heat, ideally under refrigeration to prevent oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids and preserve squalene activity. Once the bulk pack is opened, it is advisable to transfer the product into smaller airtight containers to reduce air exposure during regular production use.
Restorative Body Balm for Bulk Production
