A Soft Pink Shade Built for Clear Gel Formulations
Pink Gel Color in a compact 10 ml bottle is formulated to tint transparent and translucent bases while keeping the finish clear and free of cloudiness. This type of colorant is widely used across the candle-making industry, especially for gel candles and the popular aquarium-style novelty candles, as well as for clear gel bath products, glycerin soap bases, gel air fresheners and certain household chemical formulations where a bright, even tone without sediment is required. The product belongs to the Gel Food Coloring category, which brings together concentrated dyes designed for viscous and clear bases.
The 10 ml size is well suited for home crafting and small trial batches where getting the exact shade right before scaling up production matters most. Because the pigment is highly concentrated, only a small amount is needed: typically between 2 and 8 drops per 100 grams of base, depending on the depth of color desired. The color should be added once the base is fully melted but has cooled to around 60-70 degrees Celsius, preserving pigment stability and preventing dulling of the tone. Stir thoroughly after adding the color to achieve an even shade throughout the mixture, taking care to avoid trapping air bubbles that could affect the clarity of the finished piece.
Pink blends smoothly with other shades from the same line, allowing for gradients, layered effects and creative combinations. Paired with Gel Color Goldfish 100 ml, it produces convincing underwater and marine-themed pieces, while combining it with Sea Wave Gel Color creates smooth color transitions reminiscent of a sunset over water. For softer, warmer tones, many crafters mix it with Gel dye Apricot to build gentle layered pours.
Store the colorant tightly sealed in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations, which can otherwise cause the formula to separate over time. Shake the bottle gently before each use to redistribute the pigment evenly. Keep in mind that the final shade in a finished piece may look slightly different from the concentrate itself, since transparency and layer thickness both affect the perceived color, so testing a small sample before committing to a large batch is always a good practice.
The colorant also finds occasional use in small-batch decorative soap and bath bomb production, where a bright pink accent is needed without altering the texture of the product, though its main application remains firmly tied to clear gel formulations and decorative candle work.
Pink Ombre Gel Candle
Clear gel candle base 300 g
Pink Gel Color 3 drops
Vanilla fragrance oil 2 ml
Waxed wick 1 piece
Glass decorative beads 15 g
Melt the gel base over a double boiler until fully liquid, then let it cool to around 65 degrees Celsius before adding the Pink Gel Color, stirring thoroughly until the shade is even throughout. Add the fragrance oil and mix gently to avoid foaming, then pour a thin first layer into a clear glass container with the wick already secured in place. Once this layer has partially set but is still soft, arrange the decorative beads on top, then pour the remaining gel over them and leave to cure at room temperature for several hours until fully solid.
