Decyl Glucoside 1 kg

Why Decyl Glucoside Is a Go-To Choice for Gentle Cleansing Formulas

Decyl Glucoside is a mild non-ionic surfactant derived from corn-based sugars and coconut-derived fatty alcohols, making it one of the most widely used gentle cleansing agents across global cosmetic and household chemical manufacturing. The 1 kg packaging suits small-batch and studio-scale production, giving formulators enough volume to develop stable recipes while still testing before scaling to larger runs. This product belongs to the Surfactants category, which brings together cleansing and foaming ingredients used across numerous industries.

The primary application of Decyl Glucoside spans shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers, baby care products, and intimate hygiene formulas. Its low irritation potential makes it a preferred choice for sensitive skin lines, children's cosmetics, and products marketed as mild or gentle. Beyond personal care, this surfactant is also used in household chemistry, particularly in delicate dishwashing liquids, gentle fabric care products, and certain industrial cleaning formulas where reduced aggressiveness toward materials and skin is a priority.

In formulation, Decyl Glucoside is typically introduced into the water phase during mixing at temperatures between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius, allowing it to dissolve evenly without losing its foaming properties. Recommended dosage ranges from 5 to 20 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired foam density and cleansing strength. The ingredient pairs well with other surfactants to enhance mildness, often used alongside Cocamidopropyl Betaine 30% 100 ml for added viscosity and foam softness, as well as with Cocamide DEA 100 ml to stabilize foam and increase product thickness.

For more natural and delicate product lines, Decyl Glucoside is frequently combined with plant-based carboxylates such as Olive Carboxylate, 25 ml, resulting in formulas with minimal irritation potential suitable for sensitive and children's skin. This combination is especially valued by manufacturers of organic and natural cosmetics who aim to avoid harsh sulfate-based surfactants.

Store the product in a tightly sealed container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and freezing conditions, as low temperatures may affect its flow properties. Under proper storage, shelf life typically reaches up to two years from the production date. The 1 kg package is convenient for consistent use across small to medium batches, as well as for testing new formulations before moving to industrial-scale volumes.
