Sepiwhite MSH lipophilic amino acid active Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine for cosmetic emulsions
Sepiwhite MSH is a cosmetic active based on Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine, a derivative of the amino acid phenylalanine combined with a lipophilic chain. This molecular structure provides high compatibility with oil phases of cosmetic formulations. The material appears as a fine powder with white to light cream color and neutral odor.
The ingredient is considered oil soluble and is typically incorporated into the lipid phase of emulsions. When heated the powder dissolves in plant oils, emollients and lipid bases and then distributes evenly throughout the system. During cooling partial crystallization may occur, therefore emulsifying systems are commonly used to maintain stable dispersion.
Sepiwhite MSH is compatible with creams, serums, emulsions, fluids and decorative cosmetic products. The ingredient remains stable in different formulation structures and allows development of products with a wide range of textures.
Properties and skin performance
Within cosmetic formulations the active distributes evenly within the lipid phase while maintaining the sensory properties of the product. Finished formulations show smooth consistency and soft application feel.
Products containing the ingredient spread easily across the skin and create a clean cosmetic finish. The active is frequently used in formulations designed to support visually even skin tone appearance.
Industry applications
Sepiwhite MSH is used in facial creams, cosmetic serums, emulsions, lotions and decorative cosmetic systems. The ingredient is applied in skincare products, professional cosmetic lines and functional cosmetic formulations.
In formulation practice the ingredient is dissolved in the oil phase and introduced during the emulsification process. This method allows uniform distribution of the active throughout the formulation.
Sepiwhite MSH is widely used in formulation laboratories, private label projects and contract cosmetic manufacturing where formulation stability and scalability are required.
Formula example
Sepiwhite MSH 3 g
Jojoba oil 70 ml
Squalane 50 ml
Olivem 1000 emulsifier 30 g
Glycerin 45 g
Purified water 440 ml
Hydroxyethylcellulose 7 g
Hydroxyethylcellulose is dispersed in purified water until a gel base forms. In a separate oil phase jojoba oil and squalane are heated and the emulsifier together with Sepiwhite MSH is added and mixed until the powder dissolves completely. The oil phase is then combined with the water phase under mixing to form an emulsion. Glycerin is incorporated and the mixture is blended until uniform texture forms. After cooling the pH is adjusted to a stable range.
Sepiwhite MSH is widely used in professional cosmetic formulation and industrial manufacturing. The ingredient supports stable integration into emulsion systems and enables reproducible scalable cosmetic production.
