Salcare SC 60 as a conditioning cationic polymer for mild and stable cleansing systems
Salcare SC 60 is a cationic polymer used as a functional ingredient in formulation systems to improve softness, reduce harshness and enhance overall product feel. Its role is not only to add conditioning but also to balance the performance of surfactant-based systems.
In B2B manufacturing this ingredient is highly practical. It integrates easily into different formulations, does not require complex adjustments and performs consistently during scale-up. This makes it a reliable raw material for contract manufacturing and industrial production.
Properties and functional role
Salcare SC 60 acts as a conditioning polymer with a cationic charge. It interacts with surfaces and forms a thin layer that creates a smooth and soft feel.
Within formulation it reduces the harshness of surfactants, making cleansing systems more comfortable without compromising performance. It remains stable and does not disrupt the structure of gels or emulsions.
Properties and result
Products containing this ingredient feel softer and more balanced. Foam becomes creamier, spreading improves and post-use dryness is reduced.
From a technical perspective it can slightly increase viscosity and improve texture stability. It does not negatively affect clarity or appearance when used correctly.
Purpose
Used as a functional ingredient in shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers and mild cleansing creams.
Applied in cosmetics, SPA products, household formulations and large-scale manufacturing systems.
Application
Suitable for a wide range of cleansing products. Compatible with nonionic and amphoteric surfactants such as Decyl Glucoside and Coco Betaine.
Can be added to water phase or to the finished base. Easy to disperse and stable in processing.

Technology: Heat water phase to 70°C and hydrate thickener completely. Add Salcare SC 60 and mix until uniform. Introduce surfactants with gentle mixing. Cool to 40°C, add actives and adjust pH to a mild acidic range.
Instruction: Avoid excessive mixing after adding surfactants. Monitor pH carefully and ensure even distribution of the polymer.
Manufacturing stability
Salcare SC 60 provides consistent results in industrial production. It scales easily, maintains stable viscosity and delivers predictable performance across batches, making it suitable for contract manufacturing.
