Loose Granulated Paraffin for Layered Candle Designs
Paraffin for bulk candles in a 100 gram pack is a specially processed material in the form of fine crumb or granules, designed for quick and convenient candle making through a layering technique without the need for melting and pouring into molds the traditional way. This granulated wax belongs to the Wax for Loose Candles category, which brings together materials for the assembly method of candle making directly inside a jar or glass, where layers of loose wax alternate with decorative elements and fragrance additives.
The compact 100 gram size is well suited for home crafting and trial batches, when a maker is just learning the bulk candle technique or wants to test a combination of shades and decor before scaling up to a larger production run. This amount is enough to fill one or two medium sized jars, making it a practical choice for personalized gifts, custom orders, or experimenting with new design ideas. Loose paraffin does not require melting - the granules are simply poured into a container in layers, which makes the process safe and accessible even for beginners, including supervised activities with children.
The main application of this type of paraffin is decorative and interior candle production, where the layered visual effect and the ability to embed botanical elements directly into the candle structure are highly valued. Granulated wax pairs particularly well with dried botanicals and natural decor, such as Natural spikelets, Green, which create a wheat field effect inside a translucent or semi transparent paraffin base. Another popular addition is Cotton natural, whose fluffy bolls give the candle a cozy winter or rustic character and hold their shape well between layers of granules.
To achieve color, the paraffin can be tinted with dry powder colorants right before layering, distributing the powder between layers of crumb. The Green Color Powder 5 g works well for this purpose, giving an even tone without clumping and requiring no pre dissolving. A recommended dosage is around 0.5 to 1 gram per 100 grams of paraffin depending on the desired intensity, and the powder is best lightly mixed with the granules by hand before adding the next layer.
When working with loose paraffin, it is important to set the wick in the center of the container in advance and secure it with a wick holder or a toothpick so it stays straight through every stage of layering. Granules are poured in layers, with decor optionally placed between them, and afterward the top layer can be gently melted with a heat gun or topped with a thin pour of melted paraffin at around 60 to 65 degrees Celsius to bond the structure and add clarity. A candle made this way sets faster than one made by classic pouring, which speeds up the production cycle for small batch making.
Store the paraffin in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, in a sealed package, to prevent the granules from clumping and to keep out dust. Under proper storage conditions, the material retains its workable properties for a long time without losing its loose texture.
Green Field Candle
Loose paraffin 100 g
Natural spikelets green 4-5 pieces
Cotton natural 3-4 bolls
Green color powder 1 g
Wick with holder 1 pc
Secure
the wick in the center of a glass jar. Pour the first layer of paraffin about
1.5 centimeters thick and lightly dust it with a portion of the colorant for
subtle tinting. Arrange a few spikelets and one cotton boll along the inner wall
of the jar, holding the decor in place with your fingers. Add the next layer of
paraffin, repeat placing the remaining spikelets and cotton, alternating layers
until the jar is filled to the desired height. Finish by gently melting the top
layer with a heat gun on medium setting until the surface turns smooth and semi
transparent. Let the candle cool completely at room temperature for two to
three hours before use.
