A ready emulsion system that speeds up small-batch skincare production
Cream Base 1 kg belongs to the category base for cosmetics, cream, serum, shampoo, and it functions as a pre-made emulsion system that only needs active ingredients added to produce a finished product without building the formula from scratch. This packaging size suits home-based makers, small workshops and studio-scale manufacturers producing batches ranging from a few dozen to several hundred units, as well as anyone testing a new formulation before scaling up. The base removes the need to source and balance emulsifiers, thickeners and stabilizers separately, which shortens development time and reduces the chance of formulation errors.
The primary use of this base is in skincare manufacturing - moisturizing, nourishing, day and night facial and body creams, as well as products formulated for sensitive skin. Beyond cosmetics, similar emulsion bases are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing for topical preparations and in household chemical production for cream-type care formulas. The texture of the base allows oils, extracts, vitamins, essential oils and active complexes to be incorporated smoothly without separation, provided the mixing temperature is respected.
The base is easiest to work with at around 40-50 degrees Celsius, when it remains pliable and readily accepts additional components. Heat-sensitive additives such as B vitamins, plant extracts and essential oils are best introduced once the temperature drops to 35-40 degrees, to avoid degrading active compounds. Recommended dosage for additional ingredients typically ranges from 3 to 15 percent of the total mass, depending on the additive type and the desired effect of the finished cream. After blending, the mixture should be stirred until uniform and left to cool at room temperature, avoiding sudden temperature swings.
The base pairs well with plant oils, silicones, natural waxes and functional additives, giving formulators broad room to experiment across different product lines. For a hand care range, it works well alongside a related product, the Hand Cream Base 1 kg, formulated for a denser texture suited to hands and elbows. For lip products, it is worth considering the Lip Balm Base 200 g, which is structurally closer to wax-based formulations. Those developing stick products and firmer lipstick formulas may also want to look at the Covalip 94 WP base for balm and lipstick, 100 g, which complements the range with a firmer consistency.
Store the base in a tightly sealed container, in a dry place at temperatures between 5 and 25 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Under proper storage conditions the product remains stable throughout the shelf life stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
